You swept a REAL good team. And on the heels of getting swept by the Yanks with a lot of people predicting the big fall to come. Impressive few days for sure.

Is it Chicago and Baltimore the next two series? Certainly winnable games for them to get back up to a respectable record during this toughest part of the season. It's a shame the pen killed them on Sunday as winning one game against the Yankees would have been nice. 4 game winning streak sounds better then 3.

Cincinnati and then Baltimore and then the Yankees. Cincinnati is similar to the Mets - pretty much treading water for the past couple of weeks, but just swept Cleveland. Baltimore and the Yankees have of course both been hot.

Oh, and the Mets are 7-9, not 8-8, so far - I miscounted. It's going to be tough to finish 13-12 for the 25-game stretch (which I viewed at the start as enough to be considered legitimate), but it's certainly not out of the question after this sweep.

He's been the best pitcher in the NL this season but Cain is having an amaizng season as well and it all culminated last night for him.

I think they end up giving it to Cain but Dickey does have 2 more wins and 1 less loss. There is still a few starts left before the all star game so we will see.

Hopefully, his vesting option doesn't kick in.

I was at the boardwalk during the early innings. I heard Bay got injured during Bruce's inside the park HR. What happened and how serious is the injury?

Dude, he knocked himself out again. He ran right into the wall. He for sure got a concussion. I don't see how he couldn't. He was wobbly as hell walking of the field. It's just crazy. Has he even been back for a week? It's just crazy.

A concussion might keep him out till Labor Day.

sorry to see Bay injure himself with another wall crashing, probably concussion causing 100 percent plus effort on defense

but getting his dead bat out of the middle of the order is frankly and sad to say, a blessing in disguise IMHO

Brad Lidge was DFA'd. The Mets are almost forced to pick him up even though he's been terrible.

How frustrating this team is! Swept the Rays, only to get swept by the Reds.

This team is absolutely garbage. Until they get some real pitching they aren't going anywhere.

    Pitching? The starters are fine.

The problem is relief pitching and the hitting.
