Roy Oswalt signed with Texas to be close to his tractors.

All 10 teams in both eastern divisions are over .500 when the heck was the last time that 2 divisions had all of their teams over .500 at the same time this late into the season?

Joe Maddon has been batting Carlos Pena first or second this season.

Today, Pena batted leadoff against a lefty.

Pena is an all or nothing hitter. Strikes out a ton, has good power, and no speed.

He also bats .208 in his careers against LHP.

He should be batting 5th or 6th, not leadoff.

Kemp returned to the Dodgers and immediately reaggravated his hamstring scoring on an Ethier double. MRI tomorrow.

Kershaw not on his game but hanging in, down 2-1, 100 pitches through 5.

Oddly specific trivia, but the Dodgers just swept the Phillies in a 4 game series in Philly.

First time that's happened since the 1940s.

Dodgers I believe were underdogs in every game, and significantly so on Tuesday and Thursday, with Lee and Hamels pitching.

First time since the year before Jackie Robinson came up. You could hear the Phillies fans groaning and booing on almost every pitch, certainly every out, I don't remember anything like that before.

Then the Dodgers fly out to Seattle and get no-hit by six different pitchers. I mean, kudos to them but when six pitchers no-hit you you're just not hitting. Shame of it is that the game was 1-0, winnable.

They had runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out in the 8th but AJ Ellis and Tony Gwynn Jr couldn't get a hit. I also think Dee Gordon was safe in the 9th (so it's tainted ) but I always wonder how something like that works. Steven Pryor recorded one out and got the win so he's the pitcher on record in the no hitter. Pretty funny, it was also his 1st major league win which I would imagine has never happened; a pitcher recording his 1st big league win as part of a no hitter.

Hershiser says he doesn't mind walking Miguel Cabrera as long as he doesn't score.

Great insight there. If teams somehow could know he wouldn't score, they'd walk him every time up.

ESPN then proceeds to go to ads right in the middle of Prince Fielder's AB.

I've heard the saying. I don't know where it originated.

TORONTO — Blue Jays right-hander Brandon Morrow left Monday night’s game against Washington after just nine pitches because of a strained muscle in his left side.

After giving up a leadoff double, Morrow motioned for the trainer after missing low on a 1-1 pitch to Bryce Harper, the second hitter of the game. Following a brief discussion involving manager John Farrell, Morrow walked off the field and down the steps to the clubhouse.

Let's see if Cain starts struggling, as the trend has been.
