Uhhhh. That is not complaining and is an option that all players have. Would it be better if he pushed himself to the breaking point and got injured? Pretty much another article based on nothing. Aren't these workouts voluntary to begin with?

This was reported on ESPN 1050

Apparently Holmes threw his helmet because he was being worked too hard and was out of shape.

No. The article pointed out that the players are allowed to take themselves out of reps in OTA's, and Holmes is behind in preparation because he was traveling visiting American troops overseas...

    A real cancer.

Obviously Rex was asked about the display, but..it's also possible that he tweaked a hamstring and felt it was due to being rushed back.

It could indeed be complaining and it very well could be a cancer as well. That someone has a valid gripe/concern doesn't mean that they aren't whining, bitching and complaining or that they aren't a cancer.

It often has to do with the approach one takes.

There is a correct way to take yourself out of practice.

Throwing your helmet on the ground and acting like a spoiled child isn't the correct way.

Yeah, but…but….we are Jets fans so we HAVE to make excuses. That is how we survive the drama.

Let me just start by saying I do not like Holmes.

That said, the media also does not like Holmes. Holmes, mistakenly, burns a lot of New York media. This story is just Holmes not liking the media and the media not liking Holmes. Nothing really anti Holmes-Jets.

Nobody can see this for what it appears to be? Holmes comes to the OTA's and is not in shape or up to speed with the rest of the team, possibly tweaks something or is sore, and pulls himself out of practice in frustration. He didn't blame anybody other than to say he was not up to speed physically. What is wrong with that?

I am so tired of hearing how great everything is the Giants do and say, while everything Jets is a problem, issue, or wrong.

If this happened with any other WR on the Jets it would be a non-story

Maybe we can pick up ochocinco as an extra, unneeded, jerk off WR.

No it isn't SG. Its just SOP for Santonio Holmes.

Why aren't Jet fans concerned that their biggest offensive weapon is not in shape enough to finish a freakin' shorts and T-shirt practice. Spending a few days with the troops shouldn't have caused him to lose THAT much conditioning.

What it looks like that while a lot of Jets have been working to improve themselves, Holmes has YET decided its time for him to get in shape.

However the biggest red flag was his attitude in leaving the practice field and the disrespect he showed Sanjay Lal. HOW DARE Lal expect Holmes to be in good enough shape to get through a shorts and T-Shirt practice.  However I don't blame Holmes. I would blame the Jets FO for giving a proven selfish player what amounts to a FU contract.

Why should Holmes be compelled to behave unselfishly. He can't be cut. He can't be traded, He can't be sat down. What could any coach possibly say to him that can compel him to do anything he doesn't want to do. In Holmes' case the tail is definitely wagging the dog.

Jet fans better be prepared for the "Santonio Ratio" this season, because that is the ONLY way youre going to see a happy Holmes.

unfortunately, his contract will prevent the "NYJETS" from getting rid of him. hopefully the "NYJETS" go after Braylon, i believe he will be a difference maker for this offense. If he can stay healthy, the "NYJETS" will be just fine. Santonio might seem like a distraction and bad influence on the "NYJETS" but the media gives him a bad rep.
