Former Jets CB Aaron Glenn, their No. 1 pick in 1994, is returning to the team ... as a personnel scout. #Jets

I think that Glenn was a classic example of a guy who was so underrated that he eventually became overrated.

I was a big Aaron Glenn fan. Unfortunately he's most remembered for Marino’s fake spike.

Was that his rookie season or the year after? What is crazy is we probably have posters who weren't even alive when he played for the Jets... soxxx comes to mind

He played for the Jets until the Texans came about right? Then as part of the supplementary draft thing he went to Houston?

Correct, I think he may have been the 2nd player they took in that sup draft. He and Ray Mickens both attended Texas A&M and were 2 of our 3 main CB's during the Parcells years. Marcus Coleman being the other attended Texas Tech. Coleman and Glenn both went to the Texans with Glenn becoming their 1st ever pro bowler. The highlight of Marcus Coleman's career would have to be his 50 yard hail mary TD reception from Vinny back in like 2000.

I wish my younger self had better memory. I remember Knicks and Yankees stuff from the late late 90s but not Jets. The names ring bells but I don't remember much of Vinny Testeverde era. First vivid memory was miracle at the meadowlands, turn of the new millennium.

That's the year Coleman caught the TD pass. That team was one that was essentially built by Parcells with overpriced FA's but the window closed so quickly. They would have won the SB the year before if Parcells had a capable backup QB when Vinny went down. Breaks my heart just thinking about it.

he and coleman were given to the Texans in that expansion draft because it was the only way the Jets had of extracting themselves from the SALARY CAP HELL that Parcells, the great coach but disaster at grocery shopping had stuck the franchise in with his handling of personnel moves before quitting on his third team

AG is one of my all time favorite Jets. He was, for several years in the middle part of his career, a game changer.

I think it was Randy Thomas we just handed them as well, we lost 3 players in that draft and we really didn't have a choice. All 3 also were much better then the garbage Herm brought in to replace them. That being said he really didn't have a choice and replacing Glenn with a guy like Aaron Beasley was a huge downgrade.

He was a close second as my favorite Jet. Longest KR for a long time.

And there was that game where we killed miami and I believe he and coleman had a bunch of INT's one where I think Glenn tipped it to Coleman who ran it in for a TD.

Watched that one at my cousins house for her Bday, shes a phins fan, it was awesome.

Always loved watching Glenn as a kid. My dad bought me an AG 31 jersey back in the day, wish I still had it. He's back where he belongs.. In the green and white. Class move by the Jets organization to bring him back in some capacity.

I loved Aaron Glenn, he was one of my all time favorite NYJ's. He played hard, he had skills, yeah boy! When players "say play like a jet" they are talking about one player in AG who is one of the standards that set the tempo. Loved ever game he played. Never ever took a play off, and was not only a "smart player" but had "mad skills" not unlike Revis and got very physical not stupidly physical but smart physical and never shyed away from contact. He was a big hitter, but if he saw something game changing, he passed on the big hit and opted for the big play. A very smart and instincted player. Glad he is back with the green and white.
