You keep banging on cult followers, can you point me to any and why you feel they are cult followers? I strongly suspect that your definition of cult follower is anyone that likes Tebow or cheers for him which says more about u than them.
Yeah he inspired Matt Sanchez..lol. I hate reading Jets shit now because no matter what they always seem to put Tebow name in it.
Did I miss the Jets winning a ring? I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the Tebois see nothing wrong with Tebow getting credited for shit he didn't do. His mere presence is praise worthy in your eyes. The Tebow effect is in full effect. Consider me inspired. You still have yet to show what kind of evidence there has been that Sanchez is inspired - however you care to define that. There is none.
All I can go by is what I have read in the articles and seen/listened to on reports. It's my understanding that Sanchez is bigger, stronger, and in the best shape he has ever been in. He's throwing the ball harder and more accurately. Inside the building, he has been the leader in the classroom, yada, yada, yada. I'm still at the point of believing that you are just completely hung up on the "Tebow" part of this. That if the Jets had brought in Chad Henne, and if doing so "inspired" Sanchez to improve, you would have no problem with it, or with reports talking about it. Oh, and as to your little "his mere presence is praise worthy in your eyes" jab; go back and look at what any "experts" said about Tebow prior to the draft, after he was drafted, and last year. You know, his INTANGIBLES being damned near off the charts, and how a team would definitely want that in their locker room. Yeah, that would be Tebow's "mere presence" and him being himself. Think about Mark's comments wrt weight lifting. You don't think that motivated (inspired) Mark to do some extra reps perhaps? Or maybe even some more weight ?
I never thought that. I thought he would be a mild distraction in the beggining then move to the back of people's minds the longer he sits. Depends on what the Jets and Sanchez do.
Eh - all the bigger stronger stuff came as a result of his work with Pennington prior to Tebow even being traded to the Jets. The leader in the classroom stuff is something we always read about. Of course you tebois want to give the credit to Tebow. Was Sanchez "inspired" when he saw the incredible hulk? Maybe, but he was already in the best shape of his life. Give it up. The comments by the author about the tebow effect and sanchez being inspired were baseless pieces of shit. I'm shocked that you are trying to give them credence. SHOCKED.
Jets West Camp Is About Sanchez, Not Tebow http://turnonthejets.com/2012/06/jets-west-camp-is-about-sanchez-not-tebow/
Anyone think that both players want to win a Super Bowl? Anyone optimistic that our offense could potentially be more explosive with Tebow and Hill added to the lineup?
Lets hope so, Tebow can add a nice wrinkle to the offense. I would like to see Sanchez and Tebow on the field at the same time. Hill is already making plays in OTA's lets hope that continues into the regular season.
Well, as you may know it was pretty apparent that Sanchez wasn't at his best at the end of last year physically. If Sanchez is bigger it can definitely be attributed to the fact that Sanchez realized that he had to get bigger to sustain physical punishment better (and still perform at a high level). I think that even the most ardent "traditional" anti-Sanchez NY Jets fans would admit that he did take a lot of punishment and you have to "credit" him for hanging in there - even if his performance did deteriorate towards the end of 2011. It's perfrectly understandable that Sanchez would want to get more physical - with or without the presence of Tebow. Whether Sanchez is "inspired" by Tebow and his noted "size" is very debatable. Also, it was apparent even before Tebow that 2012 would be Sanchez's make or break year. The pressure to improve his performance would be there in any event. The fact that both guys are saying the right things at this time again isn't anything to be unexpected. Sanchez (and Tebow I'm sure as well) has always said the right things - and been a "stand-up" guy - whether he has performed well or not. Did anbody expect Sanchez to throw temper tantrums in public or expect the Jets to "explode" this early in May / June? Sanchez has always been portrayed in the media as the first-guy-in, last-guy-out type of guy. So this is also nothing new. I don't think that LTJF is a raving anti-Tebow maniac - he just wants people to get credit where credit is due. As others have noted, Sanchez had no choice but to invite Tebow and the fact that he did does not show inspiration in any way. I think that LTJF had an issue with the use of the word "inspire" in the article and quite frankly I agree with him. It was a poor choice of words and I'm not taking away anything from Tebow. The exact line in the article was: "The fact that Sanchez invited his backup, who is pushing him for the starting job, to his passing camp is a sign that Sanchez is inspired, not threatened." That's what was written and LTJF simply asked what evidence is there that Sanchez "inspiration" (assumingly coming from Tebow's presence) was a cause for Sanchez's invitation to Tebow? And IMHO nobody has been able to answer that question sufficiently.
That's because this isn't an evidentiary inquisition, it's an article. Most everybody agreed that there's not much to be "read into" that line you quote -- it does not imply there's a body of evidence somewhere that needs to be shared. There's not. It's what's called an argument. Or an inference. The author tells you right there in the sentence the basis for his argument. He says that Sanchez inviting Tebow "is a sign" that Sanchez is inspired, not threatened. He is asserting, using language (" a sign"), that he infers the "inspired" Sanchez from the invitation. The proper response to such a sentence is something along the lines of "That is weak. I don't think it follows that Sanchez inviting Tebow means it is any more likely that he is inspired and not threatened, because Sanchez would have invited him no matter what." OR, "I don't know, it's a good sign that he's not threatened, so maybe he means he's using Tebow's presence in a positive way." There's no need keep beating the dead horse of "Give me other evidence of inspiration." Because that's something we can't really know. Rex himself said he doesn't know, ask Mark. It's good enough to say "I disagree with the reporter's conclusion. That is a stretch. Sounds like he's just trying to come up with something to finish his story." It's okay to disagree. Happens every day. Doesn't mean the world is filled with maniacs trying anoint Tebow.
You part of the media? They are waiting for the same thing. We all know it is what they want, no matter what you think of Tebow.
No real difference between the people in the stands and the media. They will both say/want the same thing.
So you're saying the people who pay to go to the games are sheep for ESPN? Keep reaching for that star.
I read this thread but had to stop for two reasons 1) The completely ludicrous premise that a legit NFL starting QB,Mark Sanchez is in a "competition" of any kind at all with an incapable non passing fullback and punt blocker. 2) The arrival of Timmy adorer future Jaguar fan Demosthenes to support this moronic premise. How dare u talk about our Timmy like that. He 9-7 over his first 16 starts and have 1 playoff game win. He so great he will be a back up again starting the season.
You all will be thrilled to know that Tebow has also inspired Holmes to attend Jets West. Thank Tebow.
