Jets fail at 3-4 because they neglect LB on a regular basis. When was the last time they drafted an OLB? Do not even mention Gholston - he was a DE that flashed a few games then went cold in the other. Last time I checked, Jets haven't drafted any blue-chip OLB in ages.

  2. Jets will be forced to address the LB position next offseason as Scott,Pace & BT will all surely not be back. They'll retain Harris, Davis & perhaps Ballore/Mcintyre..but that leaves some big time holes. Specifically on the edges.

Anyone know what edge defenders are poised to be UFA's after this season?

    That's the key word: FORCED.

That's when franchises have to reach for a prospect to fill a gaping hole. Tried-and-true recipe for bust (and possibly disaster) - that stood the test of time.

True, Tannenbaum did have a few good picks, but from the history of the draft, it is not far-fetched to conclude that this man's drafting philosophy doesn't exist.

I'm not completely sure they would be "forced" to get a LB - I'm sure they would want one though. They could potentially throw out alot more 4-3 with Maybin and Davis on the outside and perhaps a litle slimmer David Harris in the middle. They could also go out looking in free agency - I know they usually have their spreadsheets with who is expected to be a FA and when. Perhaps some interesting people are coming due.
