It's not like he can't watch his sister in the olympics on TV or anything. I don't know why people stake so highly in attending family events like that. Too many people live in a world where emotion is the only thing that dictates action. Good to know that Mangold isn't a whiny bitch. Superbowl >>>>>> The Olympics.

To be fair Revis never left his guys in the middle of TC, he just didn't join them in the first place.

I think he should go to London to watch his sister. It's a once in a lifetime chance.

I agree with Murrell, it's not like her event is going to last the whole Olympics.

Depending on how far she goes, it could be for only a few days. You don't know if she'll qualify for the team in another 4 years. Gotta go see it.

I love Mangold's loyalty to the team though.

I get the whole "being there for the team" concept, but this is such a unique situation where a family member is competing in the Olympics! And if anyone can miss two or three days of TC Mangold can.

From a physical / ability standpoint he can miss some camp, but that's not what his staying is about. This is about him being a leader and helping others learn the new offense and blocking scheme.

Nick was making the line calls from day one his rookie year. I do not think its a reach to call him the smartest player on our offense let alone the oline. Him being around for camp is going to improve the entire offense by leading by example and helping teach the others around him. His presence makes everyone more accountable for their own role.

Nick is the true leader of the Jets right now. Mark has questions about his consistency. Revis has contract issues and the way he handles it in the press reminds players this is a business first, but undermines the ability to lead with team first values. Mangold has no questions of ability or commitment to the team to hinder him as a leader. He is making a big sacrifice for the team to be in camp and everyone knows it. This can only help the Jets as a whole this season.

Admirable and self-less on Nick's part. Hopefully he stays healthy the whole season.
