I understand the reasons for people thinking Tebow can be a great starting QB, me and you have gone back and forth, but some of the reasons he makes have been shot down on this very message by you and me. I heard him talk to Stephen A Smith on Smith's radio show, and it was like day and night from this show. It was intelligent conversation about the Knicks (espn NY radio) and about their players and Melo etc. Sounded 100% different from this show and much better. I wish they would let both them be the smart sports analysts they are, but both of them catch each other in their act with their different standards for different players based on bias. The problem is people, me included, tune in to watch the yelling so no reason for them to talk intelligently and discuss. Also, I didn't know until these past few weeks that they are their own show now. I remember when they were Cold Pizza and Woody Paige and Bayless were on 1st and 10. I didn't know First Take turned into just them two. Oh and the show was so much better yesterday with Michael Smith, Jemele Hill, and Rob Parker. I would watch those 3 people over Smith, Bayless ,and etc because Hill, Parker, Smith all aren't caricatures.
I quoted your post before you added on about Tony. I think you would agree he isn't a top5 QB? I think top 10 can be argued for
Top 10 is a lock, c'mon now! The dude is SECOND ALL TIME in QB rating ! 1. Brees 2. Brady 3. Rodgers 4. Peyton 5. Eli 6. Rothlisberger 7. Romo 8. Newton 9. Vick 10. Rivers
I know Smith is an intelligent news person and is bombastic for show purposes but I love him and Bayless. I like Parker and Hill and Michael S. but in supporting roles .
I don't know if its a lock. The Romo onwards all the way to lets say Ryan, Stafford, Schaubb, are interchangable based on preference. Based on who you speak Romo falls out of the top ten. Personally I think Romo is definitely top 15 and based on his improvement last year I would slide him into the 9 or 10 spot.
The show yesterday with them was great I thought. It was much better and I usually don't like Jemele Hill but she played off of them in a great way. I wouldn't mind seeing them more often to be honest, especially on days when Smith and Bayless aren't both in studio.
LOL Skip Bayless thinks Wade played better Lebron in the game yesterday. I can't believe he is even trying to argue that. He would make the perfect internet troll, actually that is what he is except he gets a TV show out of it.
Its a pretty good gig, and you have a pretty good life when you get to argue on TV about who was better, Wade or James, when both guys accounted for 70 points for the Heat and were just about the only players to score besides Haslem (Very telling that he was the guy that they hand-picked to contribute)! Skip Bayless got worked on the entire show today, but was still right all along about the Spurs, Clippers, and Lakers. But, today he wouldn't back down from his stance on LBJ. LeBron solidified his legacy last night as the best player in basketball and one of the greatest of all-time. A Championship is a team award just as much as it is a star player award. He only needs to get one championship to put the ribbon on it all. Skip is better at NFL than he is at basketball. He is also right on point about Tim Tebow being the future for the Jets. The NFL keys are being handed over to Tebow, Rodgers, Newton, Eli Manning, Andrew Luck, RG3, and guys like Andy Dalton, possibly Joe Flacco. Aging stars like Peyton, Brady, Brees, and Palmer are the old guard. Sanchez needs a fresh start somewhere on the West Coast before I call him done. But, he's done as a Jet.
Yeah, I feel like anyone on this board could be as effective as Skip on tv. I wouldn't say Lebron is the greatest of all time just yet, but he clearly is far and away the best player in bball right now. Skip won't even acknowledge that. Skip also laughed at Stephen since he disagreed with Gruden on Tebow but then Skip says he is allowed called Magic Johnson heresay saying Lebron had an all time great performance. The more I watch the show, the more I think Stephen A Smith actually tries to discuss topics and be objective. Considering Smith is one of the least objective guys on TV, it shows what Bayless is. And it works for him. I disagree on your groupings of QB's. Rodgers and Eli are now veterans in the NFL. The QB's you listed can have bright futures in the NFL, but I wouldn't say the guard is being handed to them. Right now Brady, Brees, Eli, Ben, Rodgers own the league, and maybe even Peyton based on how much the injury affected him. I would say Flacco, Ryan, Stafford, are the next step down needing to show they can take that next step into a SB winning QB. Sanchez, Freeman, Fitz, Vick, Palmer, Alex Smith. need to show what they have and how consistent they can be. Flacco might fall in between this group and the first group I listed him in. The QB's you then listed have to show they can do what they do. None of them have started more than one season so it is way too soon to nominate them as the future QB crop of the NFL let alone the keys are being handed to them. If one QB the keys are being handed to, it is Stafford probably. With Flacco and Ryan in the same garage and Sanchez and the rest of the QB's I listed watching through the window and then the QBs you listed on the sidewalk with binoculars.
Stephen A Smith just summed up Bayless. He has 100% conviction on Tebow and Lebron and is clearly for one guy and against the other without acknowledging other points and for everything else he hedges his bets saying he wants one thing but predicts another.
