One of the many problems with this post is that Tebow faced very little zone coverage all season long. You have it bass-ackwards. He thrives against zone because he's a sight thrower once the receiver sits in a hole. He shies away from tight throws to receivers with a man on them (where ball placement will be the difference maker). Cover 1 was the most common defense against Tebow in the second half of the season. Cover 1 is everybody in man except for one guy (the free safety, usually). This is part of the value the Jets got with the 4th round pick for Tebow trade. His leadership intangible and his ability to get players going in the same direction is a valuable asset. All Jets fans should be happy not upset. Denver traded Tebow because of Peyton Manning. It is a very simply answer:Tebow was too big in Denver to put on the bench. It would have caused a distraction for Manning.
Tim a born leader? I don't think so Tim,,,err, Revis, but a leader to be sure. The better the example (a choice), the better the leader. I ask rhetorically, who inspires good performance from their teammates, the person that works hard to be their best or the person that doesn't? Now we are talking about Tim's intangables. Dispite the value of pro or con Tim/Mark stats, the grey area of unplayed football games will remain until the games are played. In regards to the subject of this thread, Tim's IT factor, it is ignored by the Jets, their opponents, and their fans at their own peril. As a 3/12er, I'm here to watch Tim, errr do it AGAIN.

Manning and Elway did not want to answer 1000 Tebow questions after every game and practice . It has nothing to do with Manning's skill over Tebow. so nothing to do with Peyton being the greatest player of all time and Tebow being the worst. Everything else to do with all the stuff that comes with Tebow.
Jets have to figure out how to get the Mark Sanchez of the playoffs to show up in the regular season on a consistent basis. Not sure bringing in Tebow was the answer for that. Unless it really does push Mark to get better. But why does he need someone to push him? That's my question. Lack of confidence or a deeper problem like focus? Maybe that's why Revis is now talking up Tebow with no mention of Mark. Where's Mark when all of this is going on? Yikes.
The business world found out long ago that "one size fits all" wrt to motivation quite simply doesn't work. Some people respond to competition while others respond better to other forms of motivation. To make things even more difficult, the type of motivation that a specific person responds to over time will often change. For example, I used to be motivated by the promise of overtime pay. Same job for time and a half ? Double time on holidays ? Sure, sign me up and give me all the hours that you can. Now ? Pfffft. I value my time more than I value the additional pay.

Nice massive post change and btw they can talk about Tebow all they want to the media but it wouldn't of been a distraction for the Broncos and Peyton. Accept the fact that Elway wanted nothing to do with Tebow and shipped him out as soon as possible. I don't like the fact that the Jets used resources on a position they didn't need when they had a lot of pressing needs. I think Tebow is a good football player, just not a good quarterback. Now when those pressing needs rear their ugly heads, the Jets QB will pay for it and will also have a fan/media favorite there being pushed into his spot as if the QB is the only problem. I also don't like the fact that their are a bunch of grown men who follow this guy around and talk about him like he's a great quarterback who can do no wrong when any sane person can see he's really not that. It's weird, creepy and delusional. I use jesuscat because someone else posted it a while ago and I thought it was funny. I hope Tebow helps the Jets win football games.
Being a good football player and quarterback is one and the same in my opinion. Somehow, calling Tebow a great football player is an implied knock. Which is hilarious. The problem I have with this plan is that if you have two quarterbacks that you can play, it means that you have none. So you have to pick one guy. The notion that you can play Tebow and Sanchez, as in, get your cake and eat it too, will not work and will fail. It has to be one or the other. If you trully believe in Mark, then hand him the keys. But that's not fair to Tebow after you traded for him, imo because then you're not making it a competition. If you're hoping to drive Sanchez with competition, then it needs to be a real genuine competition, not this pseudo-competition. Honestly, it only further validates the knock on Sanchez as someone who mentally is not tough and cannot actually handle the competition and needs to be coddled while other guys are being given the no-nonsense approach. And to me, I don't want that guy leading my team. I want the guy who two years ago would have understood why a Mark Brunell is getting reps in practice because I have to elevate my play, and get better and that won't happen.
