Was gonna head out to pole day here in Vegas but got stuck at work, tickets were only 25 bucks and my son was free. It should be about 70 degrees for pole day but sadly I'll be stuck in an office.
Tony gets honored at White House http://video.staged.com/greenmachine/president_obama_honors_tony_stewarts_nascar_sprin
Tony gets a bad rap. He's a good guy. Carl Edwards gets the media's good guy treatment and everyone in the garage thinks he's a used tampon.
I think it's really going to be anybody's title this year. So many teams are consistently running great. That said, it's way too early to make predictions. All I know is it won't be Biffle. The leading driver thru the year never wins it.
Imo, and this is not a recent thought, the COT is killing this sport. You keep hoping they can put it behind them in some way, and I concede, whether I am more used to it or because of some of the minor changes they have made, it looks somewhat better. But it is still killing the sport. Toyota's presence is certainly not a net positive, either. And the COT has a relation to Toyota's presence, since its introduction, its common template made available to all including Toyota, eased Toyota's involvement. The other was Gibbs Racing heading up Chevy's engine development and then selling out to Toyota, taking that knowledge with them. But it all goes back imo to the COT. It's ugly, it does not make for great racing, and I think worst of all it gets Nascar too involved in that end of the sport. I sometimes wonder why Ford and Chevy still are invovled in it. Dodge, too. It is becoming increasingly irrelevant, though. That is for sure.
My gripe is the fact that they let these piece of shit drivers who are multiple laps down stay out on the track and end up wrecking the leaders. They need to set a limit for each track depending on track length, like say with 20 laps to go at Bristol and maybe 10 to go at some of the bigger tracks like Atlanta and make any car that is not on the lead lap park it. I believe it was Allmendinger who ruined the finish to a couple races and Kurt Busch last week wrecked drivers that were in contention. Get these bums off the track and let us see some exciting finishes.
Me and my friend had Carl pegged as a fake ass guy from day 1. Do you remember when Tony referred to him as the Eddie Haskell of Nascar?
But they usually aren't the ones sliding way up the track and taking out the top cars. I don't think it would change anything. If they made the lap down cars park at a cutoff point they could end their contention right then and there. All the laps they earned back would be recorded and they wouldn't lose any more after that point. Even if it has minor flaws I think it is better than what has been currently happening, which is wasting fans' entire half a day because some guy can't control his car. It is bad enough to navigate around those bozos when their cars are in mint condition. I mean we aren't talking a huge chunk of the race here. It is stupid to have these idiots wrecking on the green/white/checker race after race after race.
This season is pretty interesting. I wish I could find another driver to like as much as Brian though. Each race I find myself just watching fair-weather style just to see how things go. That said, it's been pretty interesting, and it's anybody's game...well except Gordon's.
lol first you say no predictions and then you count out biffle who definitely has a chance  oh yeah I'm doing fantasy nascar this year (stock car thing on espn)
lol well that's not really a prediction...you watch, he won't be running this well come september. I always join those, but forget about them after the 500 haha. I'd love to do one though. It's just that it's mid-season. PS. Jimmie is winning it again this year.
