As a season ticket holder since 1952, I'm presuming that you're not missing seeing your team having their most serious run at the Cup in years? I guess you must have been posting from your phone while at MSG tonight.
"They're hot. They're blocking pucks. Hopefully we'll be able to hurt a few guys getting one-timers in the foot or their head or something." - Martin Brodeur https://twitter.com/#!/ledger_njdevils
Said I saw my first game in 52 as an 8 yr old kid and was a STH (1/4 share )in the greens for 22 seasons including 1994. Sadly 2 of the partners moved and a third lost his job and combined with a kid heading off to a quarter million dollar college education, I couldnt fit 2 full STs at MSG in the budget starting with 1997. Still a Jet STH though but now (except for about 3 Ranger games a yr live) an HDTV fan Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2
Real Classy! He should know better than to say something that ignorant, if that's your only hope, your fucked...
Gonna be fun sending this arrogant old jackass off to the golf course....hopefully after game 4 Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2
What's ignorant about it? We were calling for the Sens to do it as well; if the opposition's main tactic is to lie down in the shooting lanes, then it seems pretty sensible to give them a reason to think twice about doing it. Just as someone skating with their head down is asking to have it taken off with a check, so someone putting their head or body in the way of a shot is asking to get hit. IMO, the Rangers defensive strategy asks for and receives way more respect from opposition players than it deserves.
I'm not sure I follow...Obviously it doesn't get too much respect if the shots are actually being blocked. The way you're saying is as if they're afraid to shoot and hit them with a shot because they feel bad. It would take a real dirt bag to intentionally shoot for someone's face or something...not to mention that in that split second that you're coming down from your backswing, you're not going to alter your aim from the goal to hitting the shot blocker in a certain place. It's different in hockey but at the end of the day, it's just like a lot of NFL guys say; they're all kind of part of the same fraternity where intentionally putting someone's health in danger isn't largely the M.O. of the players in the league.
It’s a very big difference if you are looking to intentional injure someone. I can under stand “make them think twice before blocking my shot” but not, “lets aim for their face and hope we break something” that would take a real scum bag team to do something like that.
ohh no doubt, I bet for the rest of the playoffs. That just shows you how frustrated Marty is. What the Rangers do game in and game out is prove EVERYONE wrong, you can win games with strong D and low scoring. and last note .. how stupid is Eddie Olczyk? this guy seems to know nothing about the games he covers. He said in the Caps series the Winner of game two was going to win the series .. ok that one I might give him but last night " this game will be high scoring" is he retarted?
Understand what Marty is saying but that's kind of like Hammels hitting Harper with that pitch and then admitting that's what he was trying to do........just stupid.... anyways if the Devils are worried about hitting guys with the puck instead of trying to actually score.....then that's a battle won for the Rangers. Now how about a Game 2 show up this time.......I can't imaginee what a 2-0 lead in a series might feel like.
I was thinking the same thing. What's a lead? I think every game I am on the verge of a stroke or heart attack
yeah exactly, at least the capitals had the good sense to try and fake out our shot blockers and whip it to the net when the D-man commits. Apparently Bad-odor would rather collapse someone's cheek bone then see his team score
