Kovalev scored one of the most important goals for the Rangers since Ive been a fan. Game 6 conference finals in '94. Everyone remembers Messier's hat trick and his guarantee of victory but Kovalev is the one who scored to make it a 2-1 game in the second period. Had the Devs gone up 3-0, game over. Then Mess began his run
I already told ya, I can see Gaborik wearing a turtleneck and shooting one of those Euro porns with the wide open ass gape they love so much. Then they spit in the ass canyon for good measure
Kovalev at his best was one of the most incredible players I've ever seen. He was playing a different game to everyone else when he was in the mood.
I kid about the euro lazy thing. But when it comes to Russians and players from bordering nations, its not a joke. The are some lazy mother fuckers.
great call jonny!! not to mention it was off the rebound of his shot on goal that Mess jammed right in to give the rangers the lead in the 3rd. he had a great postseason, on the top line with mess and graves, and well deserved too.
i can't bag on Gabby, I just can't. And I wish Dubi could of reveled in some of these wins, down year and all, I wish he was out there badly this series. They need him right now like it or not.
I totally agree. Dubinsky might have had a down year scoring-wise, but the guy is an asset. He's the epitomy of grit, is great on the penalty kill and isn't afraid to block shots or dig out a puck from the corner. If you're a Dubie hater you at least have to concede that he'd be better than John Fucking Mitchell getting all this ice time #nausea.
I like Nash. He was too expensive given what Columbus wanted, but he'd be a perfect fit with us. He can score and he's got an element of toughness that most of the princess scorers (Gaborik, Crosby, Semin, Kopitar, etc.) don't have. He's probably the best all-around player in the world, like a bigger and more lethal Ryan Callahan.
I don't think he's NEARLY as motivated. Stamkos doubled him in goals, with more hits AND blocked shots. Comparing him to Callahan is ridiculous: The hits were 271:104 and the blocked shots were 88:21. Callahan scored 1 less goal. Nash makes 3.5M more.
That's probably the first and last time you'll ever see Rick Nash's name in the same sentence as "best all-around player in the world."
Its not often you get a big dude with his scoring ability. Based on pure intangibles he'd be ridiculous on a team that could give him some help. Ok, the Callahan comparison wasn't very good thinking about it. But Nash has zero help and he plays in Columbus, on a good team I gotta imagine his numbers would significantly increase. Plus I don't think the Jackets place nearly as much emphasis on shot blocking.
Nash is an awesome player, but he belongs on the left wing in Ottawa as Alfie's natural replacement. We've even got the cap space for his stupid contract.
To call Nash the most overrated player in the NHL is ridiculous. To call Nash one of the best overall players in the world is ridiculous. To call Nash the missing link to a Ranger cup is probably spot on.
