Except he didnt gain 15 pounds of muscle, a beat reporter said "he did"

Problem is they are a sports writer, and not a nutritional expert or exercise physiologist.

How would they know he gained 15 pounds of muscle and not 13 14 or 16 ?

They didn't they are completely fucking guessing, and since they have no background in this stuff its obvious that they dont know what theyre talking about.

Nowhere in any article about McKnight gaining 15 pounds did I read about them using a DEXA scan to say holy shit McKnight gained 15 pounds of muscle.

Trust me what they mean is that he gained 15 pounds, and not that he gained 15 pounds of muscle.

Hell its not even an article its some chick posting on twitter. Its pretty obvious that shes just throwing out a ballpark figure saying he got bigger.

Theres nothing else to read into

And if hes on REAL steroids (the kind that make you get that big that fast) hed have to be fully fuckin retarded since there would be an extraordinarily high chance of him getting caught and fucked.

I was actually quite impressed by McKnight last year for what he is. I thought he actually performed better that game that Greene was out than if we had Greene in there. Of course Schotty predictably removed his workload after acquitting himself pretty well in his first major test.

To hear that he put on muscle too is very encouraging. I don't know if I like him more than Greene but they should certainly be at least 1(a) and 1(b) this year in my opinion.

Greene's problems are well documented in this thread and elsewhere. He has bad ribs and is always either injured or at least ginger with them. He doesn't do well after contact as a result, and he isn't really explosive enough to avoid contact in most situations. He's a decent NFL halfback when healthy...but he usually isn't that. I'd like to see McKnight get a big increase in workload this year. Unfortunately I suspect he'll be underutilized.

If my memory serves...McKnight was only putting the ball on the ground on returns. It's not really the same thing. He had a string of 2 or 3 of them within a few weeks it was pretty brutal. I thought he should've waved off the first one. Just trying to make something happen and he got punished. Then one of the later ones was the same type of situation and he clammed up and did it again I thought. Shouldn't be held against his RB merits.

    Another point

This should improve his ability at RB, but could likely have a negative impact on his return ability

Has there ever been an example of a "soft" speed back gaining muscle and turning themselves into a back with respectable power? Or does it more often just rob them of the thing that makes them interesting talent-wise?

Has there ever been an example of you finding anything to post that isnt negative about the Jets that you obviously loathe?

Oh lawdy, I hope that's sarcasm...

P90x and Insanity are gay and aren't real workout routines. Do some squats, front squats, deadlifts, rows, incline bench, hang power cleans, and overhead presses...THAT is how you get beast.

I think dcm cleared it up pretty well is his post.

It is impossible to gain 15 pounds of pure muscle in 4 months.

A professional athlete with a strict diet and great workout regime could expect about .5 lbs per week or 2 lbs per month.

My guess is Joe added about 8-10 lbs of muscle and 5-7 lbs of fat.

LOL. Only Jets fans would shift a good topic about our young promising RB into pure negativity like steroids. Gotta love it.

You can't gain that much muscle in that short amount of time. How many times do people have to say this? Dam...

    yawn

Just hope Golden Oreos aren't on the banned substances list. Can't believe there was no report of what he washed them down with. There's not enough coverage these days.

McKnight says he gained 15 pounds, that it is mostly muscle and that he tninks it has improved his power without any loss of speed eating a bunch of golden oreos

Some jackass reporter writes it up as "McKnight gained 15 pounds, ALL muscle despite the fact that anyone with an IQ above 15 would know that nobody can gain ALL muscle eating golden oreos.

It get posted here at TGG

and all of our professional amateur weightlifters, body builders and nutrition experts chime in for FOUR pages speculating NOT that the sportwriter is a F--KING IMBECILE but that McKnight is a roid abuser...

what is the basis of their speculation??

they saw him throw up two years ago on Hard Knocks on HBO and KNOW he is a bum

    Robert ‏ @Nacarano

I asked Joe McKnight if he's ready to handle those kickoffs and he said he wants to be a running back and not the 3rd down back either #Jets

He's got the mindset of being a starter - He's certainly got the vision, this season he's going to be the 3rd down back, nothing he can really do about that. At least he'll get a good amount of carries - but he can't fumble the fucking football if he can prove that he can be part of a heavy run rotation
