It took a lot of posts before anyone mentioned Greene's injury problem last year. It was easily visible how much pain the guy was in every time he took a hit and was still able to grind out a 1,000 yd season. I don't think he's a great RB, but he's been pretty solid considering the circumstances. I really hope McKnight can bring another dimension to the running game this season because the team definitely needs a viable #2 option behind Shonn.
no running back was capable of taking "that step forward" with Son of Marty calling more than 60 pass plays in some games and with the same dolt rotating running backs series by series... and to make matters worse MISUSING an older running back whose role should have been to run outside and catch dump offs to RUN INTO THE CENTER OF THE LINE ON FIRST AND SECOND DOWN averaging 1.5 yards per carry... with HIM gone, Shonn Greene and the rest of the Jets running game will be much improved in 2012
A little early to make an "official" announcement on how many carries each of the RBs are gonna get. I would think offseason and training camp production would determine that.
Let's hope "Jets Joe Mcknight suspended for violating NFL substance abuse policy" isn't in the headlines any time soon
Exactly. Do people not remember the other Jets runningback who would gain 1,000+ yards and average 4 YPC without breaking off gigantic runs? I'd take consistency over 18 2-yard runs and a 65 yard run.
dude that was years ago. How about giving the guy some slack? Perhaps with the added weight REX will run him between the tackles. he was dynamic on specials last year. How come you conveniently forgot that?
Only way to gain 15 pounds of muscle in that short a time period is by using steroids. However, it would be easier to believe that McKnight's 15 pounds gained weren't all muscle. Most likely, that is the case. If it IS all muscle, he had to have used steroids.
Explain to me how he is not a bruising back? One of his best attributes is that he punishes defensive players. In fact, he does it too much, I wish he would keep his feet more. I thought Greene had a decent year and with O-line improvements (new blocking scheme?) he should have a good year.
Seriously, if there is a way to gain 15 lbs of pure muscle in that short of time without steroids please enlighten me.
Yeah, a lot of people don't understand that your body has limitations. Only way it's possible to gain 13 pounds of muscle over a YEAR is if you're a first-time weightlifter who is on a great workout routine, spot-on with your diet 365 days of that year and NEVER miss a workout. And it's only because of the noob gains. Once you're done with your "noob gains", without steroids, you can only gain like 5-7 pounds of muscle a year while having a spot-on diet and great workout routine 365 days of the year.
Dude, the guy added 15 lbs of MUSCLE in less than 6 months. There are people who work out all the time and can't do that in a year. I'm not saying that i know for a fact that he did something because i don't know what type of work out regiment he was on, but it would not shock me if it comes out that he did
Well yeah, you can't workout 7 days a week, you need rest days, but you gotta keep up with a constant routine.
I think you people are missing a key point During the season these fuckers are running like mad, the amount of calories they burn on a daily expenditure is insane. Now its the off-season and they're burning drastically less calories everyday, so its much easier to put on weight (muscle included) Second of all "Joe Mcknight adds 15 pounds of muscle" really means "Joe McKnight put on 15 pounds and looks jacked" If he added 15 pounds of muscle that likely means he would be 25-40 pounds heavier, which would be fucking ridiculous. Of that 15 pounds its probably something like 6-8 pounds muscle, 3-4 pounds fat, and the rest in water/glycogen. Obviously there are people reading way too much into this and or grossly lacking in nutritional/exercise fitness knowledge. All you need to know is this Joe McKnight added close to 15 pounds Joe Mcknight apparently looks pretty god damn jacked Joe Mcknight apparently kept most of his speed and quickness (im also gonna add that people on these boards should stick to football because they dont know crap about fitness/nutrition) between this and that other thread (the one about Maybin gaining weight) its like they let everyone off the short-bus a little early.
Ok, thats great you can make all those assumptions Lou Feriggno, but the thread title says "Joe Mcknight added 15 lbs of muscle." Adding 15 lbs of muscle is different than just adding 15 lbs. So if the thread title is accurate then its reasonable to believe that he did steroids.
