With almost zero scoring ability. Need some major help this offseason, Brad Richards and his $60M contract were clearly not enough. Imagine if we had a guy like Ovechkin, man that goal last night was a thing of beauty. Maybe half a dozen guys in the whole world can aim the puck like that and shoot it that hard on a one-timer while sliding across the ice

I agree. The decision to sit him for defensive reasoning was good news for us...but it seems like more ice time and i expect to see a lot of him Saturday. He is a helluva player...what a shot. Strong on his feet...hard to knock off.

Yeah..the Rangers need another guy to fill the net or at least like Ovie..pressure the goaltender with tough shots. Looking back on it now, Nash might have been a perfect fit for this year...but not if Kreider would have been the cost long term.

I expect Tort to play the kid double the time on Friday..he has no choice.

No surprise. I hate playing there. Great crowd and atmosphere. I have only been to a regular season game there and it was still rocking.

Problem is, when you've got such a weak offense you need every player to step up every night. If one or two have a bad night, it's far more noticeable than on a team with three scoring lines.

They're picking on the wrong guy, the guy gives 110% every game every shift, he does it all...like Sens fans saying Neil is killing Sens, at least he's out there trying his best every shift...

I don't necessarily disagree, I can't believe what an easy ride Gaborik gets from you lot given what a lazy POS he is three quarters of the time. One OT goal apparently excuses him from turning up for an entire series.

Exactly they blame the guy that leaves it all on the ice. After all this you can see how retarded most Ranger fans are especially JonnY. :)

Cally shouldn't be singled out on a positive or negative note last night......he played slightly under his usual pace, just like the rest of the team did.

I guess I'll take the postive spin here and say I think they played like shit last night collectively and still only lost by a goal in a hostile environment to a team on the brink. An effort in Game 7 more like they are capable of ought ot result in a W, albeit maybe an ugly one but who cares.

and johnny E, back to the soccer threads, the Sens have been gone for a few weeks now ; )

hahah dude, if you cant see the drop off in his play form the Ottawa series to now, you are wearing the Cally-colored glasses my friend. I love the guy and can think of maybe 5 guys in thewhole league that I would trade him for but hes been disappointing this series.

He was one of our leading scorers in the reg season. We need him to score! PLus hes not blocking shots like he did in the first series. No one is

if you don't know already, our Captain-24- is leading the NHL postseason with 58 hits.
i know we need goals badly, but you cannot deny that he never tanks, it's not an easy sport.
it's trench warfare going on out there.

He reminds me of Kovalev when he was in Ottawa. Different type of skills, but the same lazy fucking attitude where he drifts around the ice for most of the game, occasionally popping up to produce a piece of brilliance before disappearing back to his magic hole somewhere between the blue lines.

I've drawn up this comparison of Gaborik to Kovalev before as well. It's unnerving knowing what skill set is buried beneath a lazy mentality.

At least you guys got the best of Kovy as well. Bar a couple of games where he was his old majestic self, all we got for $5M was the lazy twat prancing around the ice ineffectively taking up valuable ice time that would have been used better by some no-mark AHL grinder.
