Here you go skip...he's clearly not that good http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204528204577012330119720816.html
http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2012/worst-cornerback-charting-stats-2011 Read this too skip...53% success rate seems pretty good too me...and if you try to argue the YAC bs read the article first before you do so so you don't sound like more of an idiot (even though that seems pretty tough right now)
Stats associated with Corners mean little to nothing. The best stat a corner can have is none at all. There are way too many factors to consider to take Wilson's number's at face value. Watch the player instead. He can mirror, he can flip his hits, he can elevate & he can tackle.
I have Jets' games from '09 - '11 on my DVR (I'd have more if I had space :sad and, like every offseason, I watch them repeatedly until TC/preseason. So, I get this crap from watching the games. I'm not saying he's a bust or even a disappointment (yet), but I will say with confidence that I don't foresee him ever being a quality starting CB. And that's because I've seen nothing to hint that he would be. Agreed. And I've watched the player. He's nothing more than an average nickel back at this point, with no signs he's going to be anything more.
 Kyle Wilson has been getting better and better. If you look at the year as a whole, of course you won't see amazing stats yet, but he's come a long way and improved his game. I see him having an above average season next year all around. Let's be real, you dug up this thread from 2 years ago, just to bump it with a negative comment about the player. What's the motivation behind that?
You think I haven't watched every play of Kyle's NY Jet's career? You don't think I study film of players, I don't spew out bullshit off the top of my head. Wilson is very athletic and doesn't have stiff hips, he needs to improve on the mental aspect of playing NFL CB, not the physical. I've followed Wilson's career at Boise and watched him dominate against SEC teams. We can agree to disagree, one think is for certain my track record of evaluating players has been consistent for almost 10 years on this site. Kyle Wilson has improved from year one to year two, NOBODY can deny it. You sound like the the D-Brick haters his 1st two seasons.
I never said you didn't watch the games, I was simply clarifying that I'm basing my evaluation of Wilson on what I've seen on the field, not from statistics. I have no problem agreeing to disagree, and TBH I hope you (and Wilson) prove me wrong.
Yeah I think Kyle Wilson can be a good #2 CB in the league. I think if needed he could step in and fill that role currently and be average to above average corner immediately. I think a lot of fans compare him to Revis and judge off that which is completely unfair to him and any other corner in the league.
It's hard to evaluate Wilson's starter potential, playing on the outside is such a different approach to playing nickel. For me his best flashes were in his rookie preseason when he started for Revis during the holdout.
