Jags released him today. Cheap depth? Makes sense. He has been consistently healthy the past three years and had a decent 2010 with us. Edit: Can someone edit the thread title so it doesn't make it seem like a reunion is rumored? Just my opinion, not actually a rumor.
Bring him back as the dime back. Knows the system, contributes on special teams, & has playoff experience. he was shaky as the nickel guy but will be above average in the dime.
He'd be a great fit back here. I wouldn't guarantee him a roster spot, but we need another depth cornerback, and Coleman can at least make plays on the ball.
I feel like this is a situation where absence has made the heart grow fonder. He got burned so much while he was here.
I know - I was just thinking about how people wanted Smith & Coleman run out on a rail and now we want them back? I think Strick was an upgrade.
Yea let's do this. Can't have Eric Smith being the only one getting burned. Matter of fact, what's Gholston doing? Let's bring the whole gang back lol
This: His 2010 role suit him well and if we limit him to just a dime corner he could be very good for depth.
Why was he cut by JAX? Coleman is average but knows the system I'd be all for lettin him compete for dime duties.
I think some of you are forgetting how Rex used him and turned him into a playmaker in 2010. He had 4 sacks, an INT ad 5 forced fumbles when Rex figured out to use him as a blitzer and not rely too much on him for coverage.
Agreed but with improvement expected at safety play and Maybin, adding strickland back into the 4th CB role would be a better choice.
