Dude, you need to back off his nuts. This is exactly what is wrong with Jets fans.

Unfair? Nobody picked the guy for a reason. He didn't do jack in college. Leave it up to Rex Ryan to fall in love with players (Coples, Hill) who have great workouts over anything else.

Ok Hill I'll give you, but stating Coples did jack is wrong.

  3. You certainly are very aggressive & adamant on Coples & Hill for players you supposively don't think much of.

I laugh more about Coples and Hill combined with the fact they were selected by the Jets.

Individually, is Coples intriguing? I think so. Personally, he's not someone I'd ever want my team to spend such a high pick on, but I understand someone will because of potential.

I'm not a Hill fan and wouldn't draft him high, but again, I can see why a team would want to roll the dice.

The part that makes those picks hilarious to me is that they were both picked by the SAME team, in back to back selections, by the JETS.

In my opinion, the Jets are in trouble because of the type of players they've assembled their roster with, leaving them with this upcoming year to put up or shut up. You'd think that with the enormous ramifications of what would occur for Rex and the city if this year failed like the last, that Rex would change his mindset and stop gambling on headcases, and start getting solid character guys that can help the team. But what does he do? Takes BOTH of them. Not one.... BOTH! Two of the guys with the biggest bust potential.

THAT, is why I dont understand these picks.

You're nuts. Neither of these guys are workout wonders. Hill is a stud who can break jams at an NFL level and get easy separation. but what is most important is that his BODY CONTROL is excellent. Being 6'4 means nothing if you can't use your body against defenders and he is great at back shoulder fades, skinny posts and jump balls. I don't know what knock you can make on the kid based on his play last year. Where did he come up short??

As for Coples, his motor is being over-exaggerated. Yes, he blew in the first 4 games of the season, partcicularly against Clemson. But from mid-October on, he was on fire. He has more talent than any defensive player in this draft. Period. Did Ingram outperform him? YES. But you draft based on pro potential, and Coples has the potential to be an absolute stud for the next decade a la Seymour.

Hill hasn't done anything in his career. He wasn't thought of as anything before his WORKOUT. There really is no argument there.

As for Coples, Rex said he drafted him because he went down there and WORKED HIM OUT himself and that is what sold him.

    Drafting off of workouts.

Who are you to giving draft advice on anyone?? The Bills haven't done shit with their first round picks in recent years!!!! Leodis McKelvin, Spiller, Maybin, Lynch......want me to continue????? I'm sure you'll say Dareus so let me save you the trouble and say 1 decent pick(jury still out) and at #3 overall should be a slam dunk!!!!

And as for your name, bills over jets, when has that happened in the Obama administration??? None??? Oh wait, once back in Sanchez's rookie year and it took OT and Mark throwing 5 picks for you guys to win!!! So stop trolling and trashing the Jets and go back to your redneck country ass shithole and STFU!!!!!

He said no. When i met him back in December at an open forum, we all asked if he was interested in coaching at the NFL level - Jets or otherwise, and he said no. He'd rather stick with his kids' high schools and doing projects like draft workouts and the like.

It's called an opinion. This is a message board. I can give my opinion about anything I want, just like multiple people do on this board every day.

Recent years? Our first rounders (Dareus, Wood and Spiller) would all start on your team. Dareus is a monster, had 5.5 sacks in his ROOKIE season playing 3-4 NT with no help. After Fred Jackson was lost for the season, Spiller came on to run for 5.2 ypc behind an o-line with street free agents playing because of injury. Wood is an all star if he can ever stay healthy.

Once I'm able to post a new thread on this site, the name will be explained.

If we didn't trade up for Hill, another team would have definitely scooped him up. I'm glad you're not GM of the Jets lol. You are criticizing a guy's reception #s when he played on an option and running team primarily.

    Oh yeah, really amusing.

Dude, we hear this crap every year.

Hill has character problems? Please stop it. The Bills are going to have another year of going absolutely nowhere. It's destiny. You'll always be second fiddle to the Jets, even if they completely suck next year. Why are you judging the draft before the guys play a single game? Too many internet GMs these days. Let the EXPERTS do their job. Stop acting like you have actually scouted these guys or know how coach a team.

yes rex worked him out.but he had to see the tape first.or do you think he picked coples randomll and since he had a good workout that was it?

as far as hill.same deal.he has almost 50% of his teams catches last year.there is enough tape to show he can catch and run block.he is the perfect fit for sparanos offense.but you keep on bashing it and try to convince yourself you won't be in the afce cellar next year

Hill, who knew Testaverde mostly from video games, said it was an "amazing" experience.

Tecmo Super Bowl was a good game.

Looks like Testaverde wants to live a quiet life. Jets should persue Chad Pennington to take a role of the coaching staff for the Jets (possibly as Quarterbacks coach)

    A) I honestly don't know how this guy lasted as long as he did, with his skill set and the fact he averaged almost 30 YPC this year. Yeah he only had 30 catches, he was playing in a triple option offense
    B) I actually like our second-round pick more than our first-rounder.
