Yeah, who knows if it will happen, but it seems like the expectations are that Pineda will be back with the club in twelve months. On the bright side, it might be that he's just a young kid who never needed to work hard more than an actual, lazy POS. And I can't think of many things more motivating than a possible career-threatening injury. I would hope that motivates him, anyway.
Did Cashman really say this?...haha "Right now, our hopes and dreams for this player are in jeopardy,'' Practicing for his next career in daytime soaps?
Yankees win 7-6 on a wild pitch. Jeter scores while Arod was up. Exciting play, weird ending but it is a W
Hey anytime you can beat Verlander, I'll take it. I can't accept the analysts saying Verlander was off. His breaking ball was still better than 85% of the league and his fastball was 94-96 last night.
Can Garcia suck any more? Time to flat out cut him and bring up a rookie or start Phelps..another Cashman gem..what is Colon, about 6-0 now? (I actually have no idea what he is)
Kind of hard to blame the gm when the guy he signed to be the mop-up/long man isn't pitching as well as the other long man you wanted. Garcia was insurance that they unfortunately needed to use. And he's pitched horribly. Then again, there aren't (m)any Yankee starters pitching well right now.
"Colon told reporters on Friday that even though he is happy in Oakland, he would have liked to remain with the Bombers, writes Ken Davidoff of Newsday."
Finally and it looks like Phelps will get a chance for now. Colon is only 3-2 but with a 2.62 era..he is just pitching for a team that sucks.
W/L are irrelevant. Colon's been alright this year, but nothing special (3.91 xFIP, 3.94 SIERA, 4.20 K/BB [but K/9 down to '09 levels], lowest HR/9 since '02, .229 OppBABIP, 79% LOB)
