Disagree. I think Ducasse has shown consistent improvement and the CS is apparently impressed by Ducasse. He has apparently become an absolute beast in the Jets Weight Room and his technique is improving. Expect Ducasse to contend for the RT starting job.

what we won't do for a head line.

  3. I'm 100% with you as I have been waving the Ducasse flag for a number of months now. I don't doubt his internal progress but just curious where you heard about his improvements in the weight room & with his technique?

... and people like that, just waiting to pounce, are the reason I rarely say anything here. There seem to be more people waiting to attack on this site than on any other I go to. Very disappointing- all I want to do is talk about football.

Cant believe how quickly people want to give up on Vlad. How about we wait till training camp to see.

I agree there are some people on this sight that just want to pounce on other people. they do that because they live very sad lives.

    Are you serious?

You think we drafted him because of his name not because of his playing ability?

Yep, football is entertainment. Our FO loves being in the media.

there are people here who don't know much about football and the fact that some players take time to develop into NFL starters. Ducasse is a classic example considering He is from haiti and only played a yr of HS football. The Jets drafted him knowing he would need to be developed. He has worked hard and he is now the strongest player on the team and he has improved his technique as well. Watch.

I agree and we also have the immense AUSTIN HOWARD and DENNIS LANDOLT readt to compete for the RT position. I also heard that Caleb Schlauderaff can play at RT and is picking it up very nicely. Maybe the Jets FO knows a bit more about the RT situation then some of the fans do on this board.

I don't question this, but where has Ducasse's improvements been documented?

With what went down during the last 3 days ( not addressing the RT spot in the draft) I just have to believe the Jets FO & CS are sure they have the starter in house right now.

Even the Vlad detractors have to agree he showed flashes of the beast potenial last season. Yes, no doubt at times he looked totally lost, but as others have pointed out, no OTA and no time at the facility last year to get prepared for the up coming season, had a dire effect on his development

I just have to think with the lack of concern about this RT spot , the CS is good to go. Think about it folks, they would not have followed the path that they are, if it were not the case.

Do all of the people who think Dirty is going to get killed with Hunter or Vlad really believe that the CS would not see this as well. Do you really believe that Rex and Tony would not be shoring this area up if they felt like it threaten the starting QB health?

No, count me in the group that has not given up on Vlad becoming the starting RT for the NYJets this year and for many years to follow. I am also going to go so far as to say, this kid could be another pro bowler down the road.....

Okay, now go ahead and kill me for what I believe, we shall see who laughs last, or if I am due a large plate of crow.....

I hope you're right, but were you around when Pete Kendall was traded and they had no real backup plan?

Let's not make him into a Pro Bowler just yet. I think we'll all be happy if he can just go win the job outright and not make us regret it afterwards. That said, I think there's a pretty good shot he can do just that.

Wasn't it contract and locker room lawyer issues that basically forced the Jets to dump Kendall, the same thing he had done with Arizona? I doubt the Jets would've dumped him based on talent alone. He just wouldn't stop griping about anything and everything to anyone who would listen.

Thats just stupid. Its not like he was a highly controversial player. He was a solid guard who played at Baylor who happened to have the same name as the #2 overall pick.

    Complete nonsense of a comment.
