If I'm making this up in my head please let me know - the people who had also watched every minute of the draft until this point may have picked this up or will be able to tell me I'm nuts. First off I think Eisen is great, extremely classy, says the right thing when respect or acknowledgment is needed or warranted etc. Is anyone picking up on the vibe that Eisen think Mayock is a blowhard. Its thinly veiled condescension to me and I think its kind of hilarious because some of Mayock's draftspeak is ridiculous. A 4th round TE FB goes and he is one of the best guys in the draft, or the last pick is one of the absolute best athletes in the draft (X about 10 different picks). If I hear him call another guy a height weight speed guy again im gonna flip. I first picked up on it night 1 of the draft. They were talking about the SF new WR's, Mayock was listing them, the rest of the panel was chirping about Randy Moss, and then Mayock says "of course the low hanging fruit that everyone wants me to say is Randy Moss". Low Hanging fruit does not really make sense there and Eisen was all over him and would not let it die... Its been a recurring theme I have found, was curious if anyone else picked up on this or others.
There have been a few picks were Mayock has bashed teams where he had them rated in late rounds, but I think your right. Mayock acts like he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, and it seems that Eisen is annoyed by it.
No No....I think he does a great job and its tough to say the same thing 50 different ways. I was just curious if anyone else notices the subtle animosity between Eisen and Mayock or if its just me.
My guess is its like the joker poking a bit of fun at the serious guy, with no real animosity there lol.
I did not pick up anything on Eisen/Mayock. This was the first year that I watched a bit of the draft since they moved it from its traditional Saturday opening. Having the GM for Indy come on just when the Jets were picking in the 3rd round followed by a Fisher interview from St. Louis. By the time those two got done yapping with Berman, I believe 6-8 teams had picked. I never did see any tape of our guy. My thoughts - move the draft back to Saturday, get rid of Berman.
