Believe Hill was rated slightly higher. Plus, there were some other issues with Jeffrey that might have caused concern.
Thomas broke out in the playoffs against Pittsburgh. He had the physical ability but it took him 2 seasons to put it together. I bet now that he has Peyton throing to him in his 3rd year, he will have a breakout season.
I'm not a Jeffrey fan. He was a really good college player, but I'm just not convinced that he can get separation in the league. I had the receivers ranked 1a) Blackmon 1b) Floyd then a big gap 3a) Hill 3b) Wright 5) Quick 6) Jeffrey For what it's worth.
I like it! Also, does anyone have a video of his Jets chant? I was working out and happened to miss it
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profiles/stephen-hill?id=2533537 Click on the video under the "Grade." It's the interview and at the end is the chant.
haha he only said Jets once.. he needs work on the chant lol but Im really excited we got this kid. He's gonna be great
Thanks. I've been working on Saturdays, so I haven't seen alot of college football the past 2 years (aside from evening games, bowls, or big SEC matchups) I always get concerned of picking potential over production, and Jeffrey had a ton of the later, but that doesn't always translate to the next level (NFL) hopefully they made the right choice. All the websites are hyping this pick.
Love this pick! Tanny swung for the fences on superstar level talent. Something this team has sorely needed for years. Fans will come to appreciate how talented Hill is. Not just for his speed. He has excellent hands, attacks the ball and can shield with the best of them. You don't average 30 ypc in the ACC without being able to consistently beat coverages (most of which he just flatout outran). I couldn't be happier.
Hill is a tall speed receiver to stretch the field who fits in perfectly with out offense. We need a WR with his measurables but just as important we need one who can be on the field even during running plays. That is why his blocking is just as if not more important than his size, speed, and vertical. I imagine he will be running a lot of go routes on play action this coming season and if he wasn't in on running downs that wouldn't be nearly as effective. Plus his size and vertical should make for an excellent red zone target. #84 will probably be my first NIKE jersey.
