Tells you something Talis having them out there for the last 36 seconds, they were the Rangers best line last night, and bottled the sens up in their own zone every shift...

Yeah ridiculous, but like Terry Tate office linebacker said "I was built for this son, I'm a machine."

I thought Stepan was the Rangers' best player. In fact, I think he has been their best player against us all season.

Thought he struggled at the beginning of the series but played very well at the end

Neil shook everybodies hand and said a little something to each of them, then patted each player on the chest, very classy...

The guy's a warrior. He won't back down from anyone and he can play as well. He's the perfect third line centre, he's probably been our most effective player this series.

Our top line didn't turn up. When your two highest goal scorers, including the league's fourth highest point scorer, don't bother playing, you've got problems. I really thought that Spezza had come of age, but we saw the old Spezza back in this series. If I'm MacLean, I'm looking at trading him this summer.

Spezza surprised me he was unwilling to take a hit to deliver the puck, but Gaborik played pretty weak for us too...

That creates an enormous void on your top line if in fact Alfredsson retires. It's frustrating when a primetime player isn't up to his billing come the big stage, but I think a lot of people would be voicing their frustration with Gaborik if the series ended the other way.

I know it's always the cliche that you have to set yourself apart from the rest as the big money player in the playoffs if you want to really "earn" the price tag but in hockey how often do you see the big goals scored by the least likely of candidates? Pretty frequently IMO. Teams will always gameplan against the top guys, it's up to your tertiary talent to come up big.

Really have to cut the guy a break. They interviewed him after the game and he was embarrassed and laughing. He said and I quote...brain fart....he just left the ice and all of a sudden he turned around and nobody was there...then he realized..damn...handshake!!

Actually a great interview and a proud guy who said all the right things.

Alfie has spent most of the season on the second line anyway, Maclean quite rightly decided that he'd be more effective with a little less ice time. I'm OK with 9MM and I think we have some good prospects at LW, but there's no point having a centre who racks up the points in the regular season only to disappear in the playoffs. Unfortunately there are no legitimate top line centres coming into free agency this year that I'm aware of and teams don't tend to trade away their best players, so we may be SOL.

Anyway, the Sens season is over and it's about the Rangers now. Good luck in the next round - I'm hoping for a Rangers / Flyers Conference final.

Im dealing with Caps fans already who are booking their ticket to the ECF. They apparently think this is the same Rangers team from 2009 and last year

That would be some series if that happens. The NHL has a good situation whatever the outcome of the East Semi-Finals. Just about any combo sets up a pretty solid Final. Maybe just Devils-Caps would be on the weaker side ratings wise.
