We pick at #15 in round 2, if Courtney Upshaw is still available I think it would be a good pick.

Love Vinny.... but at that point do we switch to a 4-3?

I would trade up with one of the first five teams to get Upshaw. Give away next years 3rd rounder, this years 2nd and maybe even a 5th or 6th this year to sweeten the deal.

Not much to pay for a guy who over half the mock drafts had us picking at #16 overall.

We are over paying for the spot value, but in my estimate still getting a steal.

That would leave us still the third round to get a RT and there are still ten starting caliber RTs on the board. To walk away with three day one starters in this draft would be huge.

  5. Alot of guys that can help the Jets are still on the board. Sit tight & Hope one falls to the next pick.

    - Stephen Hill
    -Vinnie Curry
    -Andre Branch
    -Courtney Upshaw
    -Bobbie Massey
    -Alshon Jeffery
    -Cordy Glenn
    -Lavonte David
    -Mike Adams
    -Reuben Randle
    -Jonathan Martin

Think I'd take anyone of those guys with this next pick. Although I'd have my reservatoions with Adams after taking a character risk already in round 1.

I would have no problem trading up to grab Upshaw, but we have got to address WR and RT at some point here. Upshaw would really be more of a luxury pick at this point, but as I said, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Drafting a couple of pass rushers 1-2 would certainly change the defense for the better.

^ I don't think Upshaw would be a luxury pick at all.

Bryan Thomas is on a 1 year deal and Bart Scott is virtually out the door.

The Jets have holes at LB to fill.

I definitely could see the Jets trading up for a LB of their liking.

I would love to trade down and get Upshaw, line him up with Maybin and leave Coples inside. 3rd get Sanu if possible. I believe RT can be upgraded by putting a trashcan there so we can get someone worth starting over Hunter in the next rounds. As for Sanu, he would be a great addition. I've seen him play in Rutgers and he shows that he'd be a good pick. With Upshaw our DLine would be just about set IMO. He and Sanu have both said that they'd like to play for the Jets. Best picks IMO.

Moving up for Cordy Glenn would be a good idea.

I imagine Glenn will be gone pretty quickly. I don't think we have enough in the bank to trade up that far without losing a valuable pick this year or next year.

I'd go with the best available OLB assuming either Branch, Curry, Upshaw is available. If not, I'd go with Trumaine Johnson.I wouldnt go WR or RB here. I can't see Stephen Hill slipping to us and every other wide receiver and running back is just ok IMO. I think too much potentially big time talent slipped out of the 1st for us to go with an average WR.

WE needed a LB more than a DE, so moving up to get Upshaw would be fine by me.

Next year Scott and Thomas are gone, we need to get a LB sometime.

WR will be addressed after the draft...Braylon Edwards.

Safety will be addressed after...Jimmy or Bell, hopefully both.

LOTS of good offensive tackles left with rd 2 grades:

    Glenn
    Martin
    Allen
    Massie
    Adams

I personally prefer a WR with our rd 2 pick:
    Hill
    Jeffery
    Sanu
    Quick
    Hilton

No safety is worth our rd 2 pick here. If we decide to go OLB:

    Upshaw (prob gone)
    David
    Branch
    Curry

I look at OLB Upshaw, Curry, or OT Glenn, J. martin, or WR like Hill, Kendall Wright (could be a 3rd rounder?), Jeffery

I personally think RT is such a gaping hole we need to draft glenn or martin. We can still pick up a quality WR in round 3..

I tend to distrust anyone who claims insight at times like these, but a couple of outlets, including the NY Post, are reporting word from sources that the Jets want a WR from round 2.

Personally, I suspect they make a jump up 5 or 6 places if there's someone they like. If there's someone they love they could well use the 3rd round choice to go up to the top 3-4 picks of the day.
