he's gonna be a better pass rusher than his teammate upshaw and better than ingram, and he will almost def be there when we pick

Maybe that's the plan all along........there have been lots of reports linking almost everybody except Hightower to the Jets. Maybe it's all a smokescreen.....and he's a damn good player too.

BTW, Scott Wright (NFL Draftcountdown) has Hightower going to the Jets in his final mock.

If we were to take him would we ideally be able to trade down a couple spots and him still be there or no?

Probably could trade down a few spots.

Here's the problem, the Jets have shown ZERO interest in Hightower and Upshaw too.

Jones is a very athletic player that the Jets have shown interest. Still a raw player, but his skillset is off the charts. IMO, he's climbed up boards based on his potential. Athletically and Size, he's head and shoulders better than Ingram & Upshaw. He lacks experience.

Jones is a great kid who loves football, no Gholston type.

Iloka is a big Safety that could be an option in Rd 3.

Oh thanks for clearing that up. Im hoping for Alshon Jeffery/Mohammed Sanu in Round 2, and Iloka in round 3.

I would be thrilled if the Jets pulled the trigger on Hightower in the first. I'm hoping that we can manage a way to trade out of 16 and still land Hightower.

Even if we can't find a trading partner I think it would make a lot of sense to go with Hightower at number 16 anyway.

I can't wait to find out what happens. I just can't imagine the Jets being to ballsy in this draft, they need to have a good draft here. I think/hope they will.

Yeah, what's up with that? Two guys from one of the best defenses in college football history. I understand shying away from Upshaw, although he has accomplished a lot in his football career. But man, I really hope Hightower is on the Jets board somewhere.

I would love a trade down and taking Hightower barring someone high really drops.

Would he play in Scott's position or in Bryan Thomas's role? I'd rather draft someone for the outside, but I do like Hightower > Upshaw.

I think Hightower is better suited to play in the middle, and rush the QB from there, but he can play outside if needed

I would like to see Hightower on the outside for running downs with Hitman, Scott and Pace. On passing downs we move him inside to replace Scott and put Mayhem at OLB.

Didn't he play the majority of his 3rd downs as an outside linebacker?

He would play outside linebacker on the first two downs and you could play him on third down as well, when Bart Scott moves on he'll be the heir apparent. Draft Vinny Curry in round two and your front 7 is set for a while

On ESPN they showed Hightower losing at Tiger Woods golf to his mom. No way I want this hack on my team!

That's something I've been hoping for awhile now. Nice to hear it elsewhere.
