Rex wants to play ground and pound football and given the fact that our backs are Greene Mcknight and Powell, i'd say RB is a HUGH need.

I kind of feel sorry for current Jets players tomorrow. They have to wonder if they might be traded somewhere.

What is the point if your going to be playing from behind every game? Last in points allowed last year. Last in rush defense, and 21st in pass defense. What have they done to improve the defense so far, besides re-sign Barber, who by the way might be playing with a walker this year?

Tampa cut Tanard Jackson, Aquib Talib is a douche bag and they are giving reps to Barber at safety. Claiborne is a perfect fit in that division with Brees, Ryan and Newton.

Its not entirely out off the realm of possibility that MIN goes Kalil, CLE goes Blackmon or Tannehill and then TB goes Mo Claiborne... Only thing is, Ive been hearing Trent is REALLY high on STLs board.

just can't see stl taking him with jackson.you would be spending the 6th pick on a split carries

this thought just popped up:the jets are now linked to 2 players that will require them to go to #7

i think we are heading up tomorrow night

Where did you here that and who?

And from what Ive heard, STL will be shopping Steven Jackson tmw. Its a shame that Schotty once again (if Richardson was picked by STL) would have a dominant run game all due to the talent that he was given.

Well first of all if the offense is functioning then it will help cover some of the flaws on defense. Secondly, having Richardson and Blount would allow the Bucs to G&P some and relieve pressure on both Freeman and the D.

If the Bucs offense just bounces back to average next year they win 3 or 4 more games than they did this season. They lost 9 games where they scored less than 20 points. They need to win some of those.

Oh I thought you meant you heard of 2 players the Jets are willing to trade... Misread it.

Anyway, I dont think Ingram is worth it moving up and I dont really think we would have to trade up to get him.

Trading up for Richardson would be disastrous. This team has a ton of holes and for the first time in years, has a full load of draft picks. Trading a boatload of picks to move up to three to take a RB??? Horrible. Terrible. There is a reason fewer and fewer RBs are picked early. It is not worth it.

First, RBs are a crap shoot in the first round.
Second, RBs grow on trees. You can get good ones late in the draft or in free agency
Third, most teams are moving away from a single RB system
Fourth, how many SBs have teams with franchise backs won recently? The last team to win with big time RB was the Rams. It is not a winning formula in today's NFL.
Fifth, RBs have a short shelf life - 4-5 years

Then what does giving up all those picks do to the team. How do you fill the holes at RT, S, OLB, WR with no early picks.

And didn't the Jets just make a trade for a player that will help the running game - Tebow. With this roster and Richardson, teams will put 9 in the box and stuff the run anyway.

What a waste of a draft this trade would be.

    1. Name me the position that isn't a crap shoot
    2. How many RB's get the 'once in a decade' tag? not many, and definitely not late round guys.
    3. We wouldn't go single back full time.
    4. We aren't trying to do it the way everybody currently is, we are trying to go old school, ground and pound.
    5. I'll never argue that point.

Why can't the Jets just stay where they are and take a player that falls to them, whether it is Coples or Ingram or Barron or Reiff or DeCastro or Jones. You win games in the trenches and the Jets need to shore up the OL and need a pass rusher.

After the ridiculous trade for Tebow, trading up for Richardson would completely destroy my faith in the FO.
