Kellen Moore busting as a round 5 or 6 pick would be a little easier to stomach than a #1 overall pick....

Chandler Jones may turn out to be a very good NFL player.

IMO, a better player will be available at #16.

A player or two always falls, it never fails.

    Let's not reach for players.

    The voice of reason... haha.

This is exactly it. A better player will be there, and reaching is not a smart Jones option.

We should draft Bones Jones as a wide out.

@Steiny31: #Jets entire staff flew out to Syracuse to workout Chandler Jones. They are high on him. He's a legit possibility at #16 folks.

Tid Bits from Lombardi and Mayock

Lombardi said the Jets sent an Army of people to Syracuse to meet with Jones. Mayock said in 3 years Jones will be the best defensive player to come out of the draft. Both said Jones isn't rising, that everyone in the NFL new about him.

I just don't see it. His production was bad in the BE and his does not seem explosive.

I honestly think they’ve lost their mind. Best defensive player in the draft??? Where do they come up with this shit 3 days before the draft? Cmon, who is buying this shit?

FWIW, Mayock had Robert Ayers ranked #4 overall last year...

Do you mean Mayock had Ayers ranked 4th in '09, or do you mean a different player?

No worries. I asked because you also could've been referring to Robert Quinn or Marvin Austin.

It only takes one team to fall in love with a guy...

Also just because the talking heads didn't realize it, doesn't mean the scouts didn't know plenty about him.

Have not been impressed with Jones' game tape at all. He seems stiff, nonviolent, and somewhat weak. All he's got going for him is his build and genetics in my opinion.

I like how Mayock doesn't just follow the grain in his rankings and really goes by his own evaluations of the players, but last year he did have a bunch of things that ended up looking silly, like having Gabbert and Locker ranked ahead of Newton.
