I'll be at the draft for game 7 rooting for THE REDSKINS but checking the game periodically.

    I'll start a Let's go Rangers chant.

    Quoting Larry Brooks today:

"Milan Michalek escaped with merely a warning by Brendan Shanahan yesterday for using his skate to kick Dan Girardi as a method of extrapolating himself from the bottom of the pile that formed while the Senators were scoring their illegitimate second goal Monday.

Hundreds of players are buried at the bottom of goalmouth scrums throughout the season, yet has anyone ever seen one of them use a skate to kick his way out?

Michalek may not have been disciplined, but The Post has learned Shanahan told the winger the next time he does something like that, he’ll have to stand outside the NHL office on Sixth Avenue wearing a sandwich sign that says, “I steal forks from restaurants.” "

    and:

There was no hearing for Neil’s head-hunting expedition that claimed Brian Boyle in Game 5. There was no hearing for Chris Phillips’ elbow to Ryan Callahan’s head in Game 2. There was no discipline applied to Michalek or to Neil for his implied threat to Michael Del Zotto following Game 6 in which he said, “I’m sure I’ll catch him with his head down one of these times.”

Unbelievable. I'm not gonna lobby for a suspension every time a player does something he isn't supposed to, but Jesus - he KICKED Girardi. Must have been deemed close enough to a "hockey play" but clueless Shanny. It's not exactly a catastrophic loss if Michalek was suspended so I'm not upset over being stripped of an advantage or something but Shanahan must be using a magic eight ball to come up with his rulings.

I know Campbell was never celebrated for the job he did in Shanahan's position but let's face it, it's a fruitless job. You're going to be criticized and second-guessed with every decision you make. That said, Campbell never came under this much scrutinty in such a short amount of time.

^It seems there are much more violent hits this postseason when compared to others...

So more rulings in a shorter amount of time is more scrutiny since they are so much suspensions and fines in Round 1....

It doesn't matter who is giving it out.

@mbyron03 That's how I would interpret it, yes. Can't imagine Capt Cally actually missing Game 7.

No way Cally misses this game...no way!

I'm surprised Michalek wasn't suspended. I can only assume it's because it's game 7, but that shouldn't matter. You can't use your skates against other players, ever, for any reason.
