Thanks for the post. It is nice to see someone who has quarterbacked at a high level agree with my position on Sanchez and Tebow.

I have said from the very beginning if Sanchez is a true leader he will rise to the challenge and have his best year yet. If he isn't a leader, Jets fans should want a change anyway, whether Tebow or someone else.

I know it's popular to say Montana, Elway , Brady , Manning but folks Marino was the greatest passer that ever strapped on a helmet , it's a shame he couldn't win one .

As much as I hate Marino he just took a big dump on the Trent Dilfers and Boomer Esiasons of the world..much like he did when he was playing..

ESPN is by far the worst Sanchez haters...Sanchez said something nice about Tebow and ESPN spinned it around and said he disrespected Tebow and Tebow has more incentive to take his job blah blah

Joe Montana and Dan Marino think Sanchez is the better Quarterback. Eric Decker and Champ Bailey think Tebow is the better Quarterback. Only time will tell.

That's about the most vanilla "endorsement" you can make.
Well, yeah, I'd hope a three year starter who's been to the AFC championship twice would do all that.
Translation, "It's Sanchez' job to lose, and Tebow's very competitive."

    Got it.

Really, those statements are so wishy-washy, a Tebow supporter could've just as easily written the headline, "Tebow Bringing the Heat To Jets QB Competition."

    Surprised no one did.

Even if Sanchez does fail the Jets will be looking for a new QB next off season.

Wow..he thinks he will remain the starter as long as he plays well..wonder how long it took him to figure that out.

Marino went to the John Madden School of Sports Analysis, where he also learned that at the end of the day, the team who scores the most points usually wins.

A TD is usually good for six.

I think the real issue is that most people realize that right now Mark Sanchez is the more polished passer in a pro style system...

But people that know Tebow and his game well know what he is capable of. It's just a matter of time before he polishes his pro style passing and he has other abilities most QBs don't to win anyway.

Is the argument that all NFL QBs who work hard enough will eventually become good passers (an inevitability, per se)?

The difference is that Tebow completely dominated his whole football career.. unlike other players who had to change to be successful. Tebow had no reason to change. His coaches didn't want to mess with him.. why mess with him?

Compare this to Cam.. he was not successful early in college and went to JC to refine his passing game to allow him to compete.

Tebow is just doing it a little later.. he has the work ethic. He has shown he can play.. he has the physical tools to thrive in the NFL. It's just a matter of experience in an NFL system.

For some reason the Broncos always thought they were a playoff team.. they were delusional. This is why they never let Tebow play and develop. People are so impatient now, yet the Panthers willingly threw away last season letting Cam develop on a stacked offense.

This is why I think Tebow should be the starter over Sanchez. Even being hamstrung he outplayed Sanchez on a worse team with a worse coach. Imagine what he could do on a decent team with a good coach.

Marino is right. Sanchez has gotten better every year here, despite the oline getting worse every year as well as the rotating door at WR. 5th most total TDs in the league last year says a lot, so unless Tebow turns into Peyton Manning next year, he won't be starting.
