God that's depressing. Just imagine the Jets trading away 2/3's of the remaining value in the draft for a single player. If Ingram isn't a star in that scenario you can just take the current management team behind the barn and shoot them while Woody hopes the next guys are better and we all hope Woody sells the team.

Ingram has too many questions, he doesn't warrant a trade up. If he's at 16 he's a solid choice though.

I'll say this again, I think Ingram ultimately ends up as a MLB in the NFL because of how well he blitzes the middle compared to the edge.

If they do this Tanny should be fired on the spot, Ingram is good but I don't think he's a once in a generation passrusher either. We have more needs then just a passrusher and it's irresponsible for the FO to feel otherwise.

Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible. I can't differentiate between these pass rushers enough to want to trade up for ANY of them. If you trade up for Ingram, he better be a Pro Bowl player, and I'm just not sure if I see that.

I do think the Jets will do some trading up in this draft, and with our 4 compensatory picks, I'm okay with that. I just hope we don't lose our 2nd or 3rd rounder in the process. This is unacceptable for me.

Walker (the AFCE blogger) is an idiot. He did the trade with himself (he was doing all of the AFCE). It's pretty clear he was doing the trade just to do it.

I don't think he's an idiot, I think he really doesn't like the Jets much at all. He was the AFC North blogger for a couple of years and he got to see the Steelers and Ravens up close. Now he comes to do the AFC East and there's this blowhard team always tooting its own horn and they superficially resemble the Ravens.

Looking at the trade again I'm thinking it would be a brilliant move by the Bills. They suck some more of the life out of the Jets while still giving themselves a really good shot at Reiff on 16.

  7. I'm gonna be the minority on this..but if these are the parameters for a trade up for Ingram..I'm all for it.

    We're essentially moving up for a 3rd, 5th & 6th rounder...& would still have 7 picks remaining including a 2nd rounder.

Here's the way i see Ingram: Immense athleticism/upside...upstanding intangibles & character. Maybe he's not a definitive EDGE rusher..but he's a definitive PASS rusher. In other words, if you move him around schematically, let him play to his strength's, & give him favorable match-ups, he will produce. Beyond the edge rusher need..the Jets need someone who can attack the line of scrimmage w/ explosion...that's exactly what Ingram brings to the table.

In a perfect world do you stay at #16 and let him fall into your lap? Absolutely. But the Jets desperately need to add an explosive player & if resolving this long time need means having to trade up...sorry guys..I'm not willing to sit back on another draft day & watch all the pass rushers be gone 6 picks before the Jets are on the board. It's time to resolve this once & for all. if Rex is sold on Ingram as being part of the solution to the pass rush woes..& all it's costing me is a 3rd, 5th & 6th rounder...I'll sign up for that everyday of the week

That's why ESPN has no credibility at all when it comes to NY sports teams.

Ha.. I've been disagreeing with you a lot lately.

Although you and I have always had a different opinion on Ingram.

I think it would be a brilliant move if that is all it cost to move up for him. He is a one of a kind player who would excel on our defense. He is such a versatile weapon for a guy like Rex Ryan who comes up with the craziest blitz packages I've seen for the Jets.

The only "question" marks that I remotely see are his physical traits that everyone is so concerned with. Before guys like Woodley and Harrison came around, I may have been concerned too.

I think Ingram is a much better prospect coming out of college than Woodley and look how that turned out with proper coaching. I loved Woodley coming out of college too.

Ingram is someone who can be a pro-bowl caliber player with proper coaching, those physical limitations will not matter with proper technique and heart. He has both of those things and it will only get better in the pros.

I'm not worried about this kid at all, I think he is going to be a phenomenal football player and he is probably THE guy I want the Jets to draft.

Honestly, I think there is a better than 50% chance Ingram will be available at #16.

    Sit tight Tanny, don't panic.

So we're trading 4 picks to a division rival to move up 6 spots.

The Jets would rather take Chandler Jones then move up.

I think Ingram will be around at 16, so we don't need to trade up.

If this happened(obviously it's not going to) but we'd be giving up a 3rd and a couple of late rounders to get Richardson. We wouldn't be giving up 16, 77, 154 and 187. The 16th pick turns into the pick for Richardson, it's an exchange of picks. I see that all the time for the sanchez trade, "the Jets gave up a 1st, 2nd,..." No, the jets exchanged 1st's, they essentially gave up a 2nd and some players that didn't have a future w/ the team to get a franchise QB.

Except its not for Richardson, it's for Ingram. Which makes it totally different to me.

I really think someone is going to drop to 16.

This doesn't even seem realistic. Why would we ever do this?

If it were Richardson, I'd be 100% in favor of this. I think he's an elite talent that can make our running game infinitely more successful. But for Ingram? I think there's a decent shot he falls to 16, and if he doesn't, grab Floyd or Upshaw or Hightower or DeCastro or move down.

Pleeeeeeeeeeease no. If we trade up, it should be to pick up an additional second rounder. I would have no problem giving up our 3rd and a future 3rd/4th to get another pick in the 2nd this year (would give us the luxury of picking two of best available HB/WR/OL/S if we go OLB in the first).

  19. I'm sick of this team & fans sitting on their hands waiting for a pass rusher to fall into our laps. This looks like yet another year, here if we stay at our pick...we maybe left out in the cold.

If the price is right & Rex truly believes that Ingram improves the pass rush now and even more in the future..I think it's ridiculous to question such a move.

Why do some of you guys get so caught up in all these rumors? It's all just a way to keep things interesting while we're waiting for the draft.
I don't believe any of this crap.
