You've been here since 2005, this should be in the draft forum.

He's been here since 2005, making him a senior poster with privileges. He is allowed to create new threads in the jets forum even if has nothing to do with the Jets. Do not question his authority...or intelligence.

I believe that he goes to Seattle and Pete Carroll, JMO.

I also believe that with a solid NT our pass rush will improve, but I would agree that upgrade at OLB is a high priority. I would personally like to go Mycal Kendricks in the 2nd round.

I can't figure out if you mean Pouha isn't solid.

Didn't want to create a separate thread but they are doing a live mock on espn.com and the following happened--Jets trade with the Bills and swap 16 for 10, and Bills get an additional 3rd, 6th and 7th. Jets take Melvin Ingram at 10.

Would you guys be ok if that happened? Just curious on some TGG opinions.

No, and I don't think the Jets want Ingram.

I'd just wait to see how the board falls

if we miss on Ingram, Chandler Jones is still a great pick

While that's actually not a bad price to move up to 10 , I don't think it will happen, nor do I want to trade up to get Ingram.

by numbers I meant measurements and work out times, yeah he had a low number of sacks but he basically played hurt all year

I posted his numbers(not statistics) in comparison to Aldon Smith in the Chandler Jones Thread

At 16 it may seem like a bad pick and I know guys say trade back, thats only if someone wants to trade up, what if we have no choice but to pick a guy and all guys who we think would be there are gone

Floyd, Ingram, Kuechly, DeCastro, Barron, Rieff all gone and no one wants to trade up we gotta pick someone, if its Jones I wont be mad, I wont be ecstatic but we cant judge the pick until we see what he does on the field

wierdly in this draft there is not one player I would be really excited about getting (other than Andrew Luck) - whomever we get at #16 (or even if we were to trade up) will almost certainly be "fine" (as there isnt really any player I really want us to avoid other than Coples) but there just arent really any players for me to get excited about for some reason this year - more than I can remember before everyone seems to have real question marks over them this year.

Nick Perry is a great rusher, saying that i dont know how smooth the transition from 3-4 OLB would be, so ill pass.

HELL NO!!!! One of the things you look for in an OLB or a DE is arm length. Ingram got swallowed up by college OT's. He can't disengage. I'd rather draft Gholston again, then Ingram. Both are wastes of time.

Measurements? Eh. He looked stiff at the combine, he ran a slow 4.87 40, an okay 7.07 cone drill, and benched an unimpressive 22 reps on the bench. I mean thats not exactly outstanding, he proved to me at the combine that he is a 4-3 DE.

If those guys are gone I'd easily take one of Perry or Kirkpatrick (put at FS) over Jones. Hell if we're solely locked on OLB and Perry wasn't there I'd even take Mercilus or McClellin over Jones at 16.

I don't believe Pouha gets any push. I don't believe he has that good first step, and I don't think he is quick enough to slip through cracks to demand double teams.

If you consider he can hold his ground, and can generate a pile in the middle, then yes he is solid.
