I compare it to 1994. Sure the Rangers breezed through rounds 1 & 2, but in the Eastern Finals they were down 3-2 to the Devils, Messier Guaranteed the win and scored a hat trick in the 3rd period, Rangers went on to win in Game 7 and take the cup from Vancouver. Someone needs to step up and lead the way, it's never easy!!
I don't understand those who make the claim that this team has "Faced Adversity" all season. How much adversity have you faced when you have won 51 friggin' games?!?!

I don't know what to expect tonight. Like others have said, last game was weird, in a way their best performance of the series in terms of shots........but still seems like no one is willing to get in the danger areas near the net....combination of good Ottawa D and unwillingness on the Rangers part to get there. Boyle getting crushed by Neil doesn't help that. Someone has got to be willing to get in there, pay the price and knock a friggin rebound in. Andersson's last game was the most mediocre 41 save performance I've ever seen...... The Rangers got a taste of their own medicine in Game 5......solid D and goaltending is a dangerous combo. I love Hank but he still does not have that timely playoff heroic streak in him for whatever reason. He did steal a game in this series, but this team needs him to steal more than one. Spezza goal was a nice play, but again, he's gotta stop that.
i think only in the way that no one expected them to retain that top spot and continue winning games at the pace they were........they won a lot of close games. but yeah, this is real adversity now.
Alfie confirmed playing tonight. This is a huge boost for us - we're an all round better team with #11 on the ice.
The sooner Gaborik is out of NY the better. What a total pussy, and now the book on him is wide open if they move on. Hit him hard and he turtles like a bitch. Richards and Gaborik are the playing like shit.
Cally hasnt done shit either. I cant blame Gabs and Richards when theyre stuck with Dubinsky on their line. T
Oh God now you hate Cally? Do you hate the stickboy too? Sorry JE that hit had intent and I would have given Neil the same as Hags, 3 games, but that being said the Rangers can't worry about that, they have to play hard and win! LGR!!!
I still stand by the belief that Stefan was injured worse by that knee in Pittsburgh than he has let on. I also think Gabby is hurt badly too.
The biggest issue with the Rangers is this: At any time, they have six very solid individual defensemen, who unfortunately play the exact same game: Solid defense, block shots, hustle, but absolutely no presence with a point shot nor the power play. Time to trade two of them for a legitimate point shot.
And that's fine, but a defenseman pinching into the slot should be an exception, not the norm. They need someone with a shot from the point. Where have you gone Sergei Zubov?
