Just saw that he tested positive for marijuana at the combine. If he slips into the late rounds, is he worth the risk considering our problems at tackle?
Late rounds... hmm, what do you consider the late rounds? Because I would be shocked if he made it to our 2nd round pick.
Just an "if", depending on whether people get scared off by a player who tests positive on a drug test that he knows is coming, or overlook it because of his talent. Say he drops to round 4/5.
I bet he goes in the 3rd now. He was a flawed prospect without this. Tremendous natural talent..top 10 pick physically. But he's lazy with his hands depending way too much on his long arms & initial mirror..and was easily beat in one on one drills at the senior bowl by anyone with a decent counter move. Now you add this to go along with the college suspension his senior year?Yeesh. A Russ Grimm team will end up taking him.He fits their mold of an front player physically. The good news is that program will demand perfect technique from him which is exactly what he needs to bring out his best.
You are drafting him with a strike against him for substance abuse. This guy failed a test that he knows he taking, so he is either stupid or doesn't care, either way not a guy I want on my team.
With so much on the line impacting his future, he failed a drug test . My first thoughts reading this article was whether it was a joke originating from The Onion. This guy is such an idiot. I'm doubtful that after he gets an NFL contract, he's gonna straighten up his act.
lol at people who wouldnt want this guy on our team It was fricken weed If hes there in the 2nd, this starts looking like an incredible draft
He is one infraction away from a 4 game suspension and he hasn't been drafted yet. He knew they would be administering a drug test and yet, he still smoked weed. Would you consider that smart?
We don't need a rocket scientist. Percy Harvin had the same issues coming in. Same with Aaron Hernandez.
It depends. If they take a OLB in round 1 then I sprint to the podium. If they take Barron/Floyd in round 1 I take the OLB in round 2 over Adams.
It would come down to who would we want one of Curry, McClellin, or Branch or a RT in Mike Adams. In that situation, if Floyd was taken, I would select Adams. Adding Floyd and Adams would significantly improve our Offense. We can also address OLB in the 3rd with additions like Bruce Irvin, Cam Johnson, or Jonathan Massaquoi (a bit of a reach but could be the only available 3-4 OLB). I'd be completely comfortable with that.
Even if the pick in the first round was Decastro, if Adams is sitting there in round 2 I wouldn't hesitate to take him.
I think Decastro would be the LG in that lineup but that's exactly what I'm saying. That's the kind of young, talented offensive line that you let play together for a few years and just forget about it because you know it's a strength.
That is extremely tempting... But at that point you are immediately throwing in the towel on Ducasse and I think he deserves this one offseason to prove himself. And in reality, I dont think the FO thinks the offensive line situation is as bad as we think it is... They seem fairly content with who they have.
Where do you get this information at? Did you even watch any of Senior Bowl week? The 3rd? The guy smoked some weed, big deal. He isn't a complete head case like Burfict. His stock should not drop anywhere near that range.
