    My Final Jets Mock.

IMO, I addressed the 3 most critical needs in the 1st 3 picks.

Jets will address OL again after the draft with a FA (Vet) signing.

This isn't necessary all the players I would want, it's what I think the Jets will do. I do like the majority of the players and think most would be an excellent fit.

Hightower is my 1st choice, but the Jet's have shown zero interest.

All(most) of the players have visited with the Jets. The Jet's front office has shown lately drafting quite a few players that have visited Floram Park or met for workouts.

Jets trade into the end of Rd 4 and get Houston's Rd 4 for the Jet's 5, 6 & 7 picks (non comp).

Rd 1 Melvin Ingram, DE/OLB, South Carolina.....Ingram's stock is slightly dropping. Bettter than a 50/50 chance he falls to #16. Jax goes a different direction. I always believed Ingram has been overrated in the top 10.

Rd 2 Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers.....Big target and a physical player. Jet's have shown a lot of interest. Jet's get their #2 WR from their backyard. Sanu should be thrilled to be a Jet.

Rd 3 Brandon Taylor, S, LSU.....A solid player that has really improved his play in 2011. Only 6'0", but is very athletic in coverage. IMO, some late games last season he out played Caliborne and the Honey Badger.

Rd 4 (trade w/Houston) Robert Turbin, RB, Utah State...a complete back that has been very productive and can step in right away with Greene.

Rd 6 Jeff Adams, OT, Columbia...Jets have shown a lot of interest. A possible sleeper.

Rd 6 Evan Rodriquez, TE, Temple.........A solid player to help our passing game.

Rd 7 Joe Long, OG/T, Wayne State......Versatile player that can play anywhere on the line. His brother played for Tony S, so there is a connection.

Rd 7 Josh Gumbs, S, Monmouth...INCREDIBLE ST PLAYER. Blocks kicks, returns kicks, a Westie favorite already.

You don't think they'll take a K/P in the late rounds? And why a pass-catching TE instead of a blocker type?

I would be very pleased if this was the jets draft. Covers the jets most pressing needs if we pick up a tackle in free agency. I love the top three picks, I just hope Mike T. has the patience to let Ingram fall to us.

I had Rodriguez in my last mock as well.
He's a poor man's Aaron Hernandez. Decent hands - good speed and the size that puts him as a tweener. His real problem is that he's easy to bring down for a guy his size.

    Will comment it:

    1) Don't know if Ingram makes it but am fine with him at 16. Still am a Pro Floyd guy BUT I can't hate it if we get a pass rusher.

    2) Sanu I think will sadly be gone by then WW85. JAX,CLE,BUF seem primed to take a WR in the 1st 2 rounds so it'll all depend on what they each do in round 1. I got him with BUF in that "other" forum in our 7 rder thingy.

    3) Taylor and Turbin are both great picks and I would be fine with it....but I really want to address the need of a RT in round 4 if we're trading up. If Kelemete falls a little in round 4, he brings in versatility and I think he can be a serviceable RT for a year and then ultimately surpass Moore as the future RG and we can take a RT in round 1 next year.

We can take a RB in round 6, Tannebaum as he has shown over the years is patient with his picks. Bilal Powell who didn't even have an offseason will have his chance and while its tough to rely on him, I do think he will get some looks as we are moving forward.

    4) Wanna get a punter somewhere...just somewhere in the draft. Sucks to lose the 2 extra picks but I don't mind that trade up.

I like it, like the idea of stocking up on developmental offensive lineman for down the road

Coming from an LSU fan, Taylor is one of the most overrated players in the draft (though I dont have a problem with him in green). He's a solid player, I just dont think he is a long term answer at safety

    Really like the mock WW,

I think Ingram’s stock has been falling slightly due to time passing from the combine and people realizing that his actual value is not a in the top 10 simply because he cant consistently beat an NFL tackle. But on this team, and at 16, I love Ingram; I personally think his best chance to succeed is in Rex’s defense simply because he is best when being moved around.

Love the Sanu pick... Only thing concerning is the lack of explosive plays (4 plays over 20 yards in his career), but that could be partially due to the QB play. I read on Twitter today that Mo Sanu would really like to be a Jet and like the system here (said he would rather be a Jet than a Giant, I guess could be skewed due to lack of depth on the Jets vs the Giants).

Taylor would be a great addition to the secondary and Turbin would help this run game (ground and pound mentality)... Im not sure Turbin would get much playing time, even though he should.

Are you assuming/planning in this scenario that Taylor would start at FS?

Adams seems like he could very well be a late round pick, but another guy that I keep hearing as a late round target is Jeremiah Brown, safety from Wagner College.

Overall, I would be very pleased with this draft, and one good thing about it is that you have taken into account who we have shown a good deal of interest in and providing a possible draft scenario.

    I'll answer some questions:

I generally don't like drafting a K or P. We can bring in a few at the end of the draft (FA).

I chose Rodriguez due to the Jets showing interest and he's a playmaker. I would like a blocking TE, but I think Rex wants to add a "new breed" TE, like the Pats.

I'm not certain Ingram is going to fall to #16, but its possible. Ingram has been overhyped the past month. There are some better options for Jax....Floyd, Cox or Coples. I think Coples has gotten a bad rap, he was a hellva player Senior Bowl week.

Again, all the players in my mock have been shown interest by the Jets.

The free safety vs strong safety is a dying classification. Taylor would be better in coverage than Landry.

Let me state it again, this what I think the Jets will do on draft weekend. It's not necessarily my first choice, but I do like the majority of the selections.

Rex has shown to draft quite a few players the Jets have visited.

    Does the Turbin pick signal

    A) That Bilal Powell is not in the Jets plans moving forward?

    Or

    B) Joe McKnight will strictly be a KR guy and last resort RB if needed?

Still think we go get a RT early in the draft but Sparano does love his RBs....just he loves his lineman a tad bit more as an ex O-Line guy.

I personally hope they go Brian Quick over Sanu for a WR. Quick to me looks like he has exactly what it takes to thrive in this league with some polishing. I see Quick as being one of the gems in this draft. He just seems like he can develop into a complete package WR that can blow the doors off your D then turn around and go over the middle and make some YAC.

Thanks for clarifying. This does look like something the Jets would do.

They have loved the 4th round for RB's, and they definitely would trade up with the amount of comp picks they have remaining. They have done it in the past to get McKnight, and I believe Powell and Leon were 4th rounders too.

Do you personally think this is a wise move to trade up for a RB in the 4th?

I don't know that a burner WR is going to fit in this offense.

Sanchez can't throw deep and if Tebow has to throw, he's inaccurate.

The offense is going to call for quick outs and passes outside the lines. Sanu fits because he has the size to get jump balls and hands to bring the ball down when contacted.

I disagree, last year made us forget he can. He was bombing it with Braylon just a year ago.

If Ingram and Sanu are there then they're easy choices. The problem becomes if they're not, do we reach for the same positions.

I don't want to derail this anymore but Sanchez can't throw deep. Not saying he doesn't have the arm strength.

I've wanted Sanu all along. I'd be okay with this pick.

WW85, why don't you make a final mock draft of YOUR dream picks for the Jets?

What the fuck are you talking about you need to YouTube that Bomb to Braylon during the Lions game ... That throw is as pretty as it gets

No time to let a play develop no one to help stretch the field

We need that type of player so Holmes can work underneath

    Unbelievable.

Quick question though do you think we can use Sanu on the quick intermediate routes and have Holmes do the stretching of the field?

Sanu can catch anything ... Dude will be a good posession wr
