I also wonder if Jets/Pats happen the last week of the season? The last two years have been Jets/Bills, Jets,Phins and the rule is that you have to play a divisional opponent. I don't think the NFL would want that game last week of the season, especially with the Jets not as strong looking like last year lets say. I wouldn't mind Texans/Jets to open the season.
Usually the schedule gets leaked by 4 or 5. I remember last year we knew the full schedule before the official release.
I was also thinking more of two potential teams, and maybe even a playoff matchup. Revis vs Andre, Sparano vs Wade Phillips, their strong offense vs what is hopefully our new defense.
Still have that hunch of Jets/Titans week 1 on CBS though I can easily see Ian Eagle(Jets guy) and Rich Gannon(Sanchez hater :lol doing the game though we always strike Dierdorf. Jets finished 8-8, Titans finished 9-7. Makes for a fair matchup.
I would agree to this but we opened at home last year....NFL usually switches it up on us. Think we open on road week 1 but finish season week 16 at home, probably vs the Pats(Wishful thinking but we played BUF and MIA past 2 years...might as well rotate it to be the Pats turn now)
(This is a wild guess....probably going to be off mightily) Week 1: At TEN 1PM CBS Week 2: Vs BUF 1PM CBS Week 3: At SF 8:20 NBC Week 4: At MIA 4PM CBS Week 5: vs STL 1PM CBS Week 6: At NE 8:30 ESPN Week 7: BYE Week 8: vs PIT 8PM NBC Week 9: At SEA 4PM CBS Week 10: At BUF 1PM CBS Week 11: vs JAX 1PM CBS Week 12: Vs MIA 1PM CBS Week 13: At IND 1PM CBS Week 14: vs ARI 4PM FOX Week 15: vs HOU 8:30PM ESPN Week 16: At SD 4PM CBS Week 17: vs NE 1PM CBS Probably see 4 national games for us, 2 on ESPN and 2 on NBC.
If I could have one wish it would be for a Jets bye week on the day of the International Series game in London.
Hearing consistent rumor, including from Fox's Chris Myers, that #49ers will open the season in Green Bay. Buck, Aikman to call game. Seems like this is gonna be FOX's GOTW at 4PM.
young, physical, and overrated. Nearly their entire schedule was softballs last season offensively speaking. They only played 1 elite offense and that was the Saints who scored 40 on them.
I would love to get ahold of the Titans asap. Them and the Bengals fucked us over last year, and we were better than both of them. To bad we didnt get to play either of them.
A lot of your homes/aways should be flopped. SF is at home, STL on the road, PIT on the road, JAX on the road, IND at home, SD at home.... Back to the drawing board. I also doubt the NFL has us in TEN for the opener since the Jets opened there in Mangini's 1st year not that long ago. I do bet we open on the road though because the NFL loves to do that to the Jets - my guess remains @ Pit week 1.
A couple things I always root for when I see the schedule: 1. Don't make the Patriots games harder than they have to be. Since New England is our most important opponent, I'd rather not have to fly in from the west coast, or play another tough road game the week before we play the Pats. Last year, we had at Oakland, at Baltimore and at New England before we played New England (on the road). Something like that again would be awful. 2. Play the warm weather teams late in the season. This year, we got Miami (2x), Arizona (home) and Jacksonville (away). Don't want to play any of these teams early in the season on the road where the heat is sweltering. And I'd prefer the home games with these teams also be late, preferably with snow on the ground. Arizona always seems to suck in the snow, and seeing Miami fans in cold weather is funny. 3. Don't play New England week one. This is purely for selfish reasons. These are usually the two most fun games of the year to anticipate and get into. Week one, I will be super-excited heading into the game regardless of who we play. Would rather not combine it with a New England week, which are also a ton of fun to get ready for. It seemed like the schedule-makers used to ALWAYS want us to play NE week one. Glad we went away from that last year. Here are a couple of other minor requests: 4. Play Indianapolis pretty early. Would rather play Luck week 4-10 when there's some NFL tape on him but he hasn't had time to re-adjust yet. 5. Play SD, Arizona and San Francisco at 1:00 PM games when the other team isn't coming off a bye. West coast teams playing at 1:00 PM the next week always seem to have issues. SD and Arizona are notorious for it. 6. Play Pittsburgh mid-late in the season. Pittsburgh always gets wrecked by injuries. Would prefer to play them with 3 OL out, Ben with 4 broken bones, etc. Only caveat is Mendenhall might be healthier with more time to rehab by that point. 7. Play Buffalo in Toronto. Less Bills fans in Toronto than in Buffalo, obviously, so you'd rather face them in Canada than at home.
Giants schedule leaked. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2012/04/giants_2012_regular-season_sch.html Week 1 - vs. Dallas Cowboys (Wed, Sept. 5) Week 2 - vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 3 - at Carolina Panthers (Thursday) Week 4 - at Philadelphia Eagles Week 5 - vs. Cleveland Browns Week 6 - at San Francisco 49ers Week 7 - vs. Washington Redskins Week 8 - at Dallas Cowboys Week 9 - vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Week 10 - at Cincinnati Bengals Week 11 - BYE (Nov. 18) Week 12 - vs. Green Bay Packers Week 13 - at Washington Redskins Week 14 - vs. New Orleans Saints Week 15 - at Atlanta Falcons Week 16 - at Baltimore Ravens Week 17 - vs. Philadelphia Eagles Jets will be on the road week 17. Then, obviously, the Jets and Giants won't be home the same weekends, except for the rare Thursday or Monday night games (and even then, typically the other team will still be on the road).
Yeah whoops on that.... I wonder if we are gonna start at home week 1. Maybe we do get back to back road games to start the year since the Giants final 5 games, four of them are on the road.
