Why would the Jets trade up to 8,9, or 10 for Richardson if teams 8-15 dont need a RB? And lets not declare him a "future HOF'er" thats overboard. Our D can improve next year. The way to not improve it is to trade up and throw away valuable picks. Thats just never smart for a team in our situation.
I didn't take it that you were actually calling me stupid... that is why I put the "hmy:" face at the end.
First off, I originally said we would trade with Cleveland... but based on someone saying that if TR dropped to 8-10, it would be bold to trade up to the #8 spot. If you know for a certainty that teams never make picks for any position other then what there needs are, no problem, under that scenario the Jets can just wait till he drops to #16. In my opinion, TR will be a HOF'er in the NFL... not overboard, not in my opinion. And opinions are really all that anyone has on this site. Moving up to the 8-10 spot would cost our #16 and 300 to 400 points more. That could be in the form of a #2 or #3, personnel or next years #2 or #3. So throwing away valuable picks, no. This is your thread and you asked for bold predictions, not something safe.
Jets trade up with the Jaguars if Richardson is available, trading their 1st , Tebow and their 3rd and next years 3rd and 5th. I just want this to happen so 1 this board goes ape and 2 we lose Tebow In reality we trade back to the pick up an extra npck..I am going Cincy 22nd and their 3rd..they select one of the olb/de we pass on. We then select best olineman or tackle.
First post, here we go 1. I will be mad at one point during the draft. 2. Coples will be on the board at 16, Barron will not 3. Of the three teams who currently have 2 first round picks(Browns, Bengals, Pats), only the Bengals will keep their 2 picks. 4. Vontaze Burfict will be drafted
Amini Silatolu gets picked in the end of the first round. Patriots trade up and grab either a receiver or a pass-rusher. NFL Network decides to not reveal which players are getting phone calls during the broadcasting.
1. Melvin Ingram, Quinton Coples, and David DeCastro are both on the board at the 16th pick (not sure if this is as "bold" as it would have been a few weeks back). 2. Ryan Tannehill is not chosen in the top 10. 3. Stephen Hill is chosen ahead of Michael Floyd. 4. The Vikings will not choose Kalil at #3 (either they trade back or pass on him). 5. The Pats will not trade down out of the first with either of their picks.
The Jets trade Tim Tebow, our first rounder, fifth rounder, and two sevenths for Jacksonville's 1st pick and the Jets select Ingram. TIM TEBOW WILL BE TRADED!
The Vikings are kind of screwed sitting on the 3. They probably want Kalil and Claiborne but neither of those guys is really 3 pick quality, more like 6 or 7 pick. There's no natural target for a trade-up for somebody either since Tannehill is just not that good and Richardson is at a position that gets less respect than it used too. They have the advantage that the rookie wage scale makes the difference between the 3 and 6 pick pretty nominal, under $2 million over 4 years plus an option depending on the position. So if they're hard-pressed they just take Kalil and realize that all they lost out on by not trading down a few slots is about $400k on the cap each season. But what if they like Claiborne a bit more than Kalil? That's where it gets interesting. If they really can't work a trade down to 5 or 6 what do they do?
it wont matter because schefter will have tweeted it 5 mins earlier! I totally agree though I f'in hate it when all the suspense is blown by them cutting to a player on the phone (typically crying)
Bold prediction. Jets trade up for Kalil in round 1, if he falls past #5. I know this is really just a pipedream, but it was our biggest weakness last year. Sure, pass rush helps as well, but our secondary was still 5th overall in the league with average pass rush and mediocre safety play. Yes, it's a concern but not as big as getting a solid RT to compliment Ferguson, if he doesn't fall off the face of the earth this season. If he continues to regress Kalil is our only option to avoid Sanchez getting hurt by the end of the year again. I don't think drafting a 1st round receiver is the best way to go, here, although I feel the #1 pick should go to offense, not defense, regardless of our pass rush. WR isn't a bad idea, but this draft is deep with WRs, so we don't need an early 1st round one, we can pick a couple late rounders up and see how it goes.
Something like that, He is my bold prediction. The Jets will draft 2 LB in the 1st 3 rounds and neither one will be known for their pass rushing ability.
