I don't know about some of you other real Jet fans I'm getting sick of all this Tebow going to take starting spot from Sanchez. All I keep reading is the media asking every player in the NFL do they think Tebow will take over as our starting QB spot. What the fuck do these guys know? There not on the Jets and don't know shit about our football team. I believe if the truth be told they want Tebow as our starter because they know he sucks.

We'll, got news for you, not going to happen. I'm here for as long as Tebow is, and possibly, much longer.

That said, I want Sanchez to remain the starter and to do well, AND, I want Tebow to do well in whatever packages the coaches develop for him. In my perfect world, it would be running Spread Option, which is where Tebow excels. If all goes well, it's a "win - win" for all. Tebow helps the Jet's and Tebow develops into a better passer.

Additionally, who knows, perhaps having Tebow behind him might light a fire in Sanchez and cause him to go to the next level. Or, perhaps Tebow might mentor Sanchez as far as being able to brush things aside and to keep a positive attitude when things aren't going great?

I got news for u.. Tebow can only become a better passer can't get no worse. Let be serious. Tell me one QB who was a bad passing QB like Tebow develop into a good one in the NFL?

Guess that leaves out Elway's first year, in which he sucked.

But, I could go with Troy Aikman. He had a 52.9 Comp % with 9 TDs and 18 Int's his first season as a starter. The Cowboys also happened to go 0-11 with him at the helm.

    In 1993, he had a 69.1 Comp % with 15 TDs and 6 Ints.

Now, before we run further along with this little discussion, let me take a sec to explain something. I don't KNOW how Tebow will turn out. He could end up being a bust as a QB, or , he might become a HoF'er.

The thing is, he was seen as a "project" QB when he was taken in the draft, a 3-4 year project given the adjustments that he was going to have to make.

He's been in the league for 2 years and has a grand total of 16 starts under his belt. Most people who actually know something about football will tell you that it takes 2-3 years before you can really tell if someone "has it" as a QB.

Unlike you, and many others, I prefer to wait and see how the kid does instead of pronouncing that he will never be a NFL QB based off a whopping 16 starts.

He didn't ask for stats, he asked for a qb passing as bad as Tebow does. Because you tebois only use cherry picked stats you already had this canned response ready to go. Unfortunately it doesn't answer the question that was actually asked.

Tebow blows! Watch his receivers that you think suck flourish this year with Manning. Don't bother with your "dropped balls" canned response either - I've already debunked that one several times. You will see this year how good those receivers are that Tebow was throwing to.

Comparing Tebow to Aikmen or Elway is a fucking joke. ohhhh but look at the stats stats stats stats. No, watch them play tebois. No comparison.

It doesn't matter what you asked for, this is the kind of bullshit that the Tebots spout ... incessantly. Then they complain that there's a "Tebow hate cult" on the team MB. It's like trying to reason with a cat ... no, several cats! :eek:hmy:

Somehow I take comfort in the fact that this is still true in football even as baseball, and the rest of the world, has been entirely restructuring around Sabermetrics/math analysis.

There's only one way to have the whole story in football to this day. Have to watch the game. Play by play. If you've got a decent brain in your head and pay attention well enough, you'll have just about all you need to know.

It always helps to know the numbers and understand what's going on, but nothing beats an active observer watching in real time.

These Tebow troll arguments are designed to glaze the reader's eye over. Meaningless, out-of-context statistics cherry picked to support whichever absurd claim they're trying to support at this particular moment.

If you watched the Jets play, and you watched the Broncos...the brain eventually starts to reject the argument on general principle. It sounds nice and all. But it's just not true.

    Ho-hum.

nothing wrong with supporting Sanchez, I am a huge Tebow fan and even I don't think he should start this year or most likely next. Sanchez does need to improve though

But is the same thing true with all the stats being thrown around that "prove" Tebow will never make it? I've heard about the completion percentage until I'm blue in the face.

That's why the wins are important -- each game has a different mood and tempo, and the players have to go out there and get it done based on the cards on the table. Doesn't always work out, you can't win them all or even play well all the time, but in football, that's what matters.

It was inevitable, and here there's still many months until opening day, that the Sanchez Fans and Tebots would be at war. The last couple of weeks, and continuing through the present, most Sanchez Fans seem to have been following the lead of their hero, which seems to be to avoid being seen, probably to mope in private. But at some point they will be back, just as Sanchez himself will have to at some point reenter the spotlight.

The problem for them is all their throwing the whole rest of the team under the bus last year, whining incessantly about Schotty, ignoring the poor execution, the dumb decisions, the obvious inability to read defenses at an adequate level, is increasingly wearing thin. There is a fear that Sanchez may and may well soon be discarded for someone who, on the face of it, lacks even more ability than Sanchez.

How can this be? Wasn't it all Schotty's fault? How come now that Schotty is gone, there is this threat to Sanchez's position?

While Tebow's deficiencies and the illogic of the Jet FO's approach to this off season have temporarily put me in the uncomfortable position of arguing for Sanchez's relatively better qualities and abilities, I do see a great prospect for much sideline popcorn munching as these two sides square off.

Perhaps this will be the much needed silver lining to what otherwise is the clusterfuck of this off season.

honestly, from experience, that is the best way to deal with it. Once the football starts it should all calm down, for now enjoy offseason: Jerry Springer edition

His first year ? YES, he did have his "throwing skills" questioned. Like other QBs coming out of college, he had trouble transitioning to the NFL.

Were his mechanics sound ? Yes. But he didn't know where to put the ball, he didn't know how to read defenses, and he wasn't accurate with his passing.

This is evidenced by the insanely high INT / TD ratio, his somewhat low Comp % (compared to what he attained his third year and later through his career), the low number of points scored by the offense, and his low QB rating.

I still don't get the revisionist history and why some people seem not to remember that many good/great QBs were pretty bad their first year as a starter.

This is my point again with u Tebow nuts. U guys make stuff up. Aikman never had his throwing skills question and EVERYBODY has problem with adjusting to the speed of the NFL. Once again u keep ducking around the question. Not a surprise that what u tebow nuts do.
