I liked this guy as a 2nd rounder in a mock a while ago. But this is fricken nutty. If we trade down i could live w em as a late first, but @ 16 per cimini article
Ya I like the kids motor it is non stop. But it was against sub par opponents and in the second round he would be a fine fit... Seems stiff though and would most likely be dominated by NFL tackles
I will say this again, I am an SU grad student, and I watched every game Jones played last year. I love the kid, he is awesome, and was a man amongst boys in most of his games. That said I don't think he can stand up. He doesn't have the hip fluidity, the ability to play in space, and I would be shocked if he makes it as a 3-4 OLB. I really expect he will be a great 4-3 end, but I have significant doubts he can stand up.
+1 There is about 40 players I would draft before Jones at 16. This talk is just nonsense. What about Perry, Hightower, Upshaw, Mercilus, Branch, McClellin... the list goes on on players that are better than Jones at OLB alone. How do “experts” get paid for this shit?
This. It's all nonsense and conjecture. There are numerous posters on this site who could come up with better analysis and projections. There is a 0% chance the Jets take Jones at #16.
From a different McShay Article Then again there was also an earlier article from McShay saying that Chandler Jones went to Clemson, so who knows
I don't disagree that Jones is under rated, and that he is just scratching the surface of his potential. I just disagree that he is a legit 3-4 OLB prospect, and that his potential is high enough to warrant being a top 20 selection. He isn't as good a prospect as Mercilus is as a 4-3 DE.
Guys, it's BS. Rex has not reached for a player in Rd 1. MoWilk & Wilson were the BPA and excellent values.
I really don't rely on anything McShay says. He has funky rankings and is in a tier below Mayock and Kiper on his mock drafts. Not surprised with this outlandish of a pick.
I would believe it's staged, if I honestly thought McShay wasn't actually an idiot. But he is such a dumbfuck that I think he believes the shit he says, and as a result its not really staged debates...
It's hilarious how, just like Olbermann and Patrick, they don't ever take themselves seriously when they're together on-camera.
Was Sanchez considered a reach at the time when he was selected in '09? Just curious since I didn't start following American Football until the NFC championship of that season (first full game I ever watched), so I think I've been lucky to avoid the worst of Jets drafting from everything I've seen and heard lol.
