My vote is for the organization to bring back Jenn Sterger to be the cheerleader bosslady (and will have a rather embarrassing wardrobe malfunction on national tv). Then to make sure we stay "relevant", coax Curtis Martin out of retirement to run the GnP. Cue the dancing bears in 3..2..1..

CBG is not a troll. I can vouch for him. His numbers may be wrong but he's not a troll.

Unless he gets 45% of the snaps.

He needs to play at least 55% of the snaps in 2012 or 70% of the snaps in 2013 to potentially reach an increase. The incentive requires more than just achieving a playing time trigger. Tebow will also have to be top five in quarterback ranking and receive league honors to earn the incentive.

Does he have to take 45% of the snaps or just be on the field for 45% of the snaps?

I suppose it doesn't matter. If the Jets play him that much, that'll be because he's helping to move the chains. At that point, the hell with it, pay him whatever.

Agreed. If he even reaches 55% there has to be enough production to merit the play time.

WTF? That's incredible. I say bring it on and let's hope he earns the bonus.

The problem with this is I have to assume Tebow has been trying to work on his fundamentals, and has shown no real progress.

Stop waving your pistol at me or I'll blow your head off. And get off my lawn.

"All seriousness aside," as Steve Allen used to say, I understand your point but he's young and people can change and develope. He's got all offseason to work on fundamentals and timing and the time behind Sanchez (maybe) to hone it. I'll bet he's sick of the criticism and is working his God-fearing butt off right now as we speak.

At this point we have no choice but to be optimistic about Tebow. And truth be known, the coaching staff is probably thinking the same.

Sanchez cannot be a happy camper about all this.

Sanchez will be fine. Just not on the Jets, which is a shame.

I love Rex however I feel he should be held to his word that his career is linked to Mark Sanchez...

If Sanchez goes they should all go.

Too bad Woody couldn't be in that camp too. We've got a long way to go before the Jets get new ownership.

So are you predicting that Tebow outplays Sanchez? That's the only way I see him leaving the Jets.

I don't necessarily agree with this. There are scenarios I can imagine in which Mark leaves and our coaching staff fares just fine.

Tebow is insanely competitive. I'm hoping he beats out Sanchez and earns these incentives, because the latter is a fucking dick and sucks at his job. I want Tebow to prove to the world that he's the true QB for the NY Jets.

No, I'm predicting that the Jets sloppy talent management prevents them from improving much on last season if reaching that level at all. I think Sanchez won't remain starter if the Jets are struggling again when there's a sideshow act in town with some credibility to replace him.

I expect he'll wind up playing for a west coast team in a year or two and probably very happy to be away from the circus.

The sad thing about all of this is that the Jets will have spent 4+ years developing somebody else's QB. I'm not going to do the long story again but I will say that drafting a young guy with less experience than you'd like and going hell-bent for the Super Bowl, then holding him accountable for your bad decisions is one of the worst possible places for a franchise to go.

We're going to pay for that in the end.

I probably should've added depending on the circumstances but I figured that would come across as too flip floppy.

Obviously if Sanchez falls off a cliff moving forward then there's nothing that can be done there.

But if the "Michael Kay Scenario" plays out of 4-4 record at midseason with Mark showing improvement but "not enough" improvement followed by a Tebow entrance then I say screw the Jets for being weak kneed and truly being what the media is currently portraying them to be.

In my eyes this can work if Tebow does the Wildcat and nothing more. I see him as a weapon to support Sanchez - not to replace him.
