It's obvious this team has holes to fill but outside of the Laron Landry signing the jets havent done much yet. We need a o lineman, wr, safety and OLB. Yet they decided Tebow was a good idea. It looks like the Saints are back as the number one story right now. So what move do you see the jets making to steal their spotlight? How about signing Terrell Owens? Trading up to draft Tannehill? Cutting Santonio Holmes? Mark Sanchez claiming to be the best qb in the league?
They already made the attention whoring move by all but begging HBO to pick them for Hard Knocks. That happened after the Tebow trade (hmmm....) and at about the point that the Bountygate thing was heating up again. The Jets obviously see themselves as in the entertainment business, Kardashian-mode, and they're going to keep doing things that scream "look-at-me, look-at-me, LOOK-AT-ME DAMMIT!" until the mode of operation proves counter productive. In kindergarten the teacher told us all to look away from the child who could not behave properly. I think the same lesson applies to this situation.
We have holes all over the place and we're putting resources into a backup QB who can't throw the ball.. But this whole Hard Knocks deal is the next part of the LOOK AT ME!! theatrics
The 'look at me' BS is a media creation. It's also a myth the media are desperate to perpetuate. They investigated Manning because they thought they could win more games with him than without. They signed Tebow because they think they can win more games with him than without and if they do Hard Knocks it will be because the data from 2010 shows them it's a smart thing to do. If you want to swallow Cimini and Mehta's sensationalist spin, go ahead, but they're the sideshow, not the Jets.
