Have you seen my post talking about the losses? and why does Tebow get his wins and losses parsed as a starter? How come you are not counting the 7-1 streak? I don't get the whole look at the last games thing. here is my post talking about each game during the 1-4 run http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?p=2464171#post2464171
I find it funny people talk about that playoff win You guys do realize they went to a cover 0 scheme? Of course Tebow would throw for 300 yards it was pure man to man The Steelers corners aren't exactly that good in man to man
That is very true. The Tebow nuts have to hang there hat on something and since we have found out these past few weeks most of them know nothing about football.
Its not a myth. A lot of newer posters won't even acknowledge Tebow has current problems let alone blame a single thing on him. Luckily most are gone after the wave of fans already posting here proved them wrong. There are still some newcomers who will come here for a hit and run comments here and there but they quickly leave or get banned for trolling
Haha...I would actually argue the prevailing thought is vice versa... Every game the Broncos won was because of their Defense and luck, and every game they lost was because Tebow sucks so bad... The truth probably lies somewhere in between I suppose.
Well it depends who you are talking to  My thinking is, that the team played very well during the winning streak, and poorly during the losing streak. The defense did force two turnovers in two separate overtimes, and you had a kicker making some tough, end of game field goals. But you also had Tebow driving the team down the field. The team as a whole, including Tebow, was inconsistent. Like I said the team was lucky they were in the AFC West where 8-8 gets them a home playoff game.
Why did they play that defense? Could it be they feared the leagues #1 rushing attack led by Tebow? Tebow is a mediocre passer right now, but it is exactly his ability to make plays with his feet that makes him tough to defend.
Yeah, it would have been different because it would say that other things went wrong rather than that teams had figured Tebow out. However, Tebow went 7-1 to start when teams didn't have film on him as a starting QB. He went 1-4 after teams were able to analyze his game and figure out his tendencies. The key to Tebow is to cover his receivers and wait for Timmy to make a poor throw. He also lost to two crappy defensive teams three times (Pats and Bills) by 18, 26, and 35 points, and despite his 316 yards against Pitt, his completion % in those last 5 games was < 41%; his average yards per game was < 180 yards; his average TD passes were .6 and his average INTs were 1. Any other starting QB putting up numbers like that over a 5 game stretch in which his team went 1-4 would likely be riding the pine.
With each and every post you show just how little football knowledge you actually have. It's obvious where you get your info. You just called one of the best defenses in the NFL crappy. Why don't you wait 3 months, and when ESPN catches up to the rest of the football world and starts talking about just how great the Pats defense actually is, then you can catch on too. Actually I think they've already started talking about it. I think you missed the show.
Yes, no doubt there are some ironic comparisons to Sanchez Fans. But as I said even one who has had big issues with Sanchez Fans such as myself sees a critical difference with them. Sanchez Fans started out as Jet fans, and think they still are Jet fans even if they became Sanchez Fans. However wrong they have been to throw the whole rest of the team under the bus to defend Mark, they think they are doing so for the Jets. Tebots were Tebots before they gave a second thought to the Jets. Their interest in the Jets doing well will not be a factor until Tebow is involved, and once he leaves, they will, too.
He actually did pretty well against the pats the first time, high yards, high ypa, ridiculous running #s. Against the bills and KC he was pathetic, but a QB in his first 16 start is going to have a few stinkers. Benching a QB with the type of stats Tebow put up would be considered if 1 he wasn't a guy you were supposed to be developing. A veteran sure, but a young guy has to be allowed to work throught the rough patches, and 2 he didn't just win you 6 games in a row. People are getting all bent out of shape about three losses in a row. Those 3 were the first consecutive losses of the season with Tebow as a starter. Doesn't mean he got "figured out".
"Roll with it", excellent advice for fans too, from one who knows. It's entertainment and competition and Tebow excels in both. Enjoy the ride.
The last five games he played in have more relevance than the ones before. You need me to tell you why? Because they show what teams who better knew what to expect were able to do once prepared. Because they show how it went down the stretch, during a run for the playoffs, that they shat the bed and backed in because the rest of the division sucked. Because they showed that the more time they played together, the worse the results. Because what happened as time went on then is a better indicator of future performance now than what happened early on. I could go on, but I doubt you will respond on the substance, anyway.
So what does it show, when after a 3 game losing streak, to finish the season in the worst possible manner, you bounce back to win a wild card playoff game, under the highest of scrutiny and pressure, in overtime with a QB passer rating of 125+, and 366 all purpose yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 turnovers, against the #1 defense in the NFL? Oh wait...I forgot...it means that Pittsburgh D messed up. The #1 D in the NFL never got the "Tebow figured out" memo. Do you honestly believe what you're writing?
I'm sorry what was wrong with THAT game? And I did watch the game thank you. And I saw a Pittsburgh Steelers D that had no freaking clue how to stop the spread option offense in the NFL because every time they tried to stop the running game, they got burnt by huge bombs. Whenever they played pass coverage, Denver rushed down their throats. This is why the Jets got him. Because he's going to do this over and over and over again, because unless you have a very modern, scheming NFL defense like the Pats, most of the old school NFL defenses currently in place are going to be Tebow's and Cam Newton's play ground.
If Denver's O was so unstoppable they would not have lost four of their last five games. The Jets got Tebow because Woody Johnson runs the show and he's a clown running a circus. That about covers it. Have a nice time over here in the segregated forum.
And if Tebow was figured out the #1 defense in the NFL would have done a little bit better against him, considering the game went to over time. They had plenty of time to show they "figured him out". The only people that figured anything out was the referees or else the Steelers would have been embarrassed and blown out of that game. And if he would have been figured out the Jets wouldn't have traded 2 draft picks and offered him guaranteed playing in time, and set on designing an offense that takes advantage of Tim Tebow. Obviously no one whose opinion actually matters, agrees with you.
