I'm sick and tired of seeing all these subpar mock drafts for the New York Jets. If I were the JETS these four guys will essentially help this team out tremendously.

With the 16th pick of the first round, the JETS need a guy that will set the edge and be their closer to rush the passer and that man is Courtney Upshaw.

With the 47th pick of the second round, the JETS need a guy with some size that will run crisp routes and stretch the field being their #2 option at WR in Nick Toon.

With the 77th pick of the third round, the JETS need a guy that can play the middle of the field and come down in the box when needed to supply the boom in FS Brandon Taylor.

These three guys will definitely have an impact as rookies for the JETS.

One player that I feel would have the most impact for the JETS in the slot and on special teams is Joe Adams. This guy is hands down a more polished and dangerous Devin Hester as a WR and nearly as close as a PR/KR. The JETS would be crazy not to trade back up in the draft and get this guy. I'm sure Mike Westhoff wants this guy in green and white.

With the rest of the draft and free agency, I'm sure the JETS will look to pick up a solid RT to compete with Hunter and Ducasse because neither of those two guys can seriously be starting next year unless they are playing at a Pro Bowl level, which I doubt, but it sure would help the JETS if they did.

You talk about subpar drafts and then you take Nick Toon at 47 and Brandon Taylor at 77???

What makes you think your mock is superior??

There are a lot of different POVs on this site.

FWIW, Toon is a major reach at #47.

Upshaw's a safe pick but I think his upside is limited. 2nd round is too early for Toon. Not a huge fan of Taylor, especially in the 3rd.

That's great value for those players especially with how the JETS play their schemes. Who would you suggest???

The JETS have 10 picks in this draft and are minus a fourth round pick and have a bunch of compensatory picks that can't be traded away. Nick Toon is a great pick up in the middle of the second round and addresses a need for the JETS.

I'm basing my mock on the mere fact that each of these players all had productive college careers and all played against legitimate competition. Guys will always be graded higher or lower on most draft boards.

I'm not going to flame you.

All I'll say is you really REALLY need to reevaluate these prospects, their production in college, and the players that are clearly ahead of them.

And please please please do not tell me Nick Toon was THAT productive in college.

You didn't mention Upshaw at 16..nobody thinks he should go that high. This is Gholston all over.

If you like Upshaw, that's fine. Nobody is claiming that he wouldn't help the Jets out. But to dismiss other people's opinions is quite silly and, frankly, a little insulting

I don't even have Toon on my top 10 WR list. Just because his father played here, doesn't mean the Jets should reach for him at #47. Hell, I probably wouldn't even draft him at #77.

I like Brandon Taylor, but not at #77.

Upshaw is plenty worthy of a pick at 16.

I agree with you on some counts JohnnythaJET but with recent drafts, too many guys have gone earlier than they should have in the first round and the second round is no different. The WRs class is deep this year and once the second round begins there is going to be a bunch of guys being taken rather quickly and it would only be right for the JETS to pick up Nick Toon. You can't say you haven't watched the draft and a guy was selected a little too high then he should have?

There might indeed be players that are ahead of a guy but red flags off the field will always have them dropping in the draft. And that never changes.

Joe Adams is nearly as good as Devin Hester as a return man? Hester is far and away the best returner in NFL history.

But the thing is Nick Toon is a 3rd round prospect. There are about 5 different WRs I'd pick for this team over Toon.

And even if there is some overhaul on WRs in the second, that doesnt mean the Jets should continue to reach like the other teams. They should jump on the players that are falling and look at a guy like Broyles, Quick, Marvin Jones, or even Toon in the 3rd.

Nick Toon didnt have much production in college and was always injured. He has potential as a big blocking possession WR but beyond that he doesnt provide that ability youd want in a #2.

    Wrong.

Dont you watch NFL Network? Mike Mayock was clearly the best returner in NFL history.

    I like Mayock but he's a Notre Dame/BC homer.

Bakermaker & Mayock are the same person.

So you insult everyone elses Mock drafts then take Courtney Upshaw the safe pick at 16 who a lot of people are down on now. Nick Toon with your second who will probably be there in our 3rd round slot. Then Brandon Taylor who I do like but is projected as a 5th or 6th round pick. You pretty much made the mold for subpar drafts.

At the end of the day, wherever and whatever round these guys do eventually get drafted, each of these players will be solid NFL pro's. They all have played in good conferences and have good resume's over their college careers.

The fact of the matter is that is just not true. Again, I am not trying to burn you, just teach.

Nick Toon never had a season over 1000 yard, never caught more than 64 passes at Wisconsin, and really only had his best year last season. Calling him a productive college player is simply false.

Brandon Taylor was a very solid starter for 3 years at LSU but was never the standout they once hoped for, although consistent. He will be a Strong Safety in the NFL, not Free Safety, since he doesnt possess the balls skills or speed youd want for a center fielder type player. He needs work in the NFL wherever he is drafted and doesn't warrant a 3rd round pick.

I am not saying these kids are bad prospects by any means, but you need to watch your wording as well as where you get your information from.
