If they pick receiver in 1st round they should pick Kendall Wright over Michael Floyd. More productive, more competitive, no alcohol problems (that we know of). Bigger question is should Jets keep those 6 late-round picks or bundle some to move back into 4th round?
Combine the fact that Floyd fits what we need (big, tall, physical WR that can be a redzone threat and capable of stretching the field) and he is undoubtedly the #2 receiver in this draft for us.
Very, very false. Michael Floyd's career numbers are about even with Kendall's and Floyd played with poor QB play and was suspended. Floyd's career stats: 271 receptions, 3686 yards, 37 TDs, in 42 games Wright's career stats: 302 receptions, 4004 yards, 30 TDs, in 50 games Also, lets not forget that Floyd is the exact kind of WR we need (big body, red zone threat, run blocker, over the middle threat, etc) while Wright is more like a carbon copy of Holmes. BTW, of those 6 late picks only 2 are able to be traded, so I think we might be staying put, unless of course we trade down early to attain more picks.
Anyone who values Wright over Floyd just is wrong...end of story. Anyone could get Wright's stats in that offense. Don't fool yourself, Floyd's stats aren't that far behind Wright's, when you look at the entire body of work.
CINCINNATI BENGALS, GREEN HURRICANE Rd 1 - Cordy Glenn, G/OT, Georgia Rd 1 - Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor Rd 2 - Chris Polk, RB, Washington Rd 3 - Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech Rd 4 - Brandon Taylor, S, LSU Rd 5 - Devier Posey, WR, Ohio State Rd 5 - Josh Kaddu, LB Oregon Rd 6 - Oliver Vernon, DE, Miami I love this draft, I really do. I haven't gone through each one yet, but I can honestly say that I doubt anyone is quite as happy with what they did as I am with this. Having two firsts is a nice start. Glenn and Wright are starters today, and both are guys that will fit in nicely in the positions they'll open up. Glenn can play RT or Guard, but he'll start inside next to the quickly developing talent Andre Smith at RT. That is a big, dominant right side potentially. If he continues to show the feet he did last year/at workouts, he might be an eventual LT. Wright is my #2 receiver, a legitimate underneath threat that can easily get behind the defense as well. With he, Gresham, and Green, Andy Dalton will be given all of the tools he needs to get this team past Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Chris Polk is a stud, and just because people don't like to give him a lot of credit he'll be a player in this league. He'll work well in the backfield with the physicality of BJGE. Jayron Hosley would be a top 15 pick if he had better size, though he's big enough to start in this league. There's no better zone corner in the draft, and he showed he has the speed to play in man schemes as well. They have a lot of players at the position, but he'll support wherever he's needed and likely open up in the nickel. Brandon Taylor is massively underrated, a very strong, steady defender who can play that box role while not being a waste in coverage. Devier Posey is a potential steal, no matter how you look at it. He was 1/2 round guy before all this tattoo nonsense, and he never lost those skills. If he can emerge as a #3 WR, I can line him up outside and go Green - Gresham - Wright - Posey. That's a lot of talent all AGE 23 OR YOUNGER. Think about that. Josh Kaddu and Olivier Vernon are both potential guys that can be developed on defense. The front seven is really solid, but I thought infusions of youth can't hurt. The DE position is a lot stronger than some think, there's a ton of potential there already on the roster.
ATLANTA FALCONS, GREEN HURRICANE Rd 2 - Jamell Fleming, CB, Oklahoma Rd 3 - Senio Kelemete, OG, Washington Rd 5 - Tyrone Crawford, DE, Boise State Rd 6 - Davin Meggett, RB, Maryland Rd 7 - James Hanna, TE Oklahoma Rd 7 - Junior hemingway, WR, Michigan I opted away from going big names for the Falcons, instead focusing on guys that I know can play football next year and contribute. Jamell Fleming is a stud, there are people that I know consider Fleming to be the 3rd or 4th best corner in the draft. He's been a stud the past two seasons at OU, was great in workouts, and can do everything that a team asks. A switch back to a man D will benefit the Falcons, as they'll likely roll with mostly nickel sets with he and Robinson outside, and Grimes inside where he's a stud. Senio Kelemete is a quality guard who showed a toughness that translates right away. Physically he's ready to play right away. Tyrone Crawford is a 3rd round guy at worse, a great hustle player who can learn a lot about technique from an older John Abraham. I think he'll be a great rotational end year one, just because he knows what it takes on a play to play basis. Davin Meggett has a lot going for him, from pedigree to body type and speed. I was looking at WRs here, but I thought if there was a late round back that can emerge as a really good player, it's him. James Hanna is a GIGANTIC STEAL in the 7th round. This is a guy that ran in the 4.4s, was once a top recruit, and is rated in the top 5 at the position by some (including Mike Mayock). He'll be a dangerous backup TE that defenses have to account for, and have a year or two to learn from the great Tony Gonzalez. Junior Hemingway is a guy I like because of his production/body type. He looks like a RB out there, which is good for the Falcons because he can succeed underneath while the big timers are working downfield.
We haven't rated drafts, but your Bengals were at the top of my list. BTW, I have good info to pass on about Brandon Taylor, one of my favorite players in this draft:http://www.kffl.com/gnews.php?id=779025-jets---scheduled-to-meet-with-brandon-taylor
Every year I get a feeling about certain players being taken by the Jets, and he's one of those guys this year. I just feel like the value fits perfectly with where they'll be looking safety. I'd love to see him here.
Taylor was a player that really stood out toward the end of the season. You watch LSU's secondary to see Mo Claiborne & Tyrann Mathieu and Taylor was making plays like crazy. IMO, Les Miles underutilized Taylor, such a shame. Taylor has a huge upside.
Miles Burris looked real good last night vs SD. Granted, they lost but he was on the field making some plays for a 4th round rookie.
I took Miles Burris in round 7 for the Cowboys here(Took him for BUF in the other website's 7 rder for the few of you who also post there). Loved his motor from SDST though I figured he'd be a special teams contributor to start his NFL career and not a starter. He played a great game for the Raiders last night and was everywhere on that field.
