It concerns me that he hasn't played football before, but there's quite a lot of upside here:

    He's big and athletic.
He's played basketball, so probably decent/good hands + hops.
He's played rugby, so he knows how to tackle and take contact.

The only thing is whether he can block. There's nothing quite like football blocking in rugby.

My expectations for him are low. I obviously hope he proves me wrong.

Low risk decent reward. He is a big guy, so why not let him compete with Cumberland for the #2 TE spot.

Hopefully this guy can pick up the basics and be a good blocker, if he can catch then he'll be getting reps in the game

Keller has got some competition for sure, with Cumby and this upstart

I expect A LOT of holding penalties at first... that said I'm excited, some elements of rugby translate well to american football. Especially on the D side to be true but we'll see...

The guy is huge and looks pretty fast for being that big. Hopefully his skills can translate into the NFL...

Ive seen footage of this guy playing basketball.

Very agile, quick feet and can easily get both hands 10 feet in the air.

Stack that on a 6"7 frame and 240lbs+ this guy can easily be one hell of a sleeper pick up.

Judging by rugby footage he is one tough SOB.

He's tall. But 240 at that height doesn't necessarily translate into somebody that can push peopl around. The guys he'll be blocking will weigh more than him (DE's 290, OLB's 255-265).

The average blocking TE weighs 250+. I'm not saying he won't be good or bad. Nobody knows.

I do find it amusing that people are getting fired up about this.
