I'm really starting to love what the Jets are doing. The only thing wrong with this story is he isn't an Aussie soccer player. The Jets are going to top The Replacements in football entertainment this year. SB or not it's going to be so much fun to watch.
I like this idea, thats a huge body that would help block at the line. Its all extra if he can catch which he prob can.
This has sparano all over, maybe not this guy but a big physical tight end is a def need for his offense.
Also pretty much necessary for the spread offense. Something 'ole Tebow didn't have in Denver and hence no short passing game. The Jets are definitely making the right moves to make this work. Of course, there's that whole catching the football thing that he needs to learn and route running....
I'm all in favor of this. It's pretty much a no-risk move, and as the saying goes "you can't teach size."
This is a good move. They need a big tall guy for the red zone, and he seems to be that. We'll see what kind of athleticism he has on the field, but its low risk.
This is a move. The acquisition of someone for a professional sports franchise that has never played the sport in his life is.....not the most impactful move the Jets are going to be making this year. Let's not vote him to the Pro Bowl just yet.
Dudes a big body who can push people around and at the least make someone at least think about covering him.
I didn't say it's not without prospects. Didn't say I don't like it. I'm just pointing out that before everybody starts crowning the next king of tight ends you should probably keep in mind that he's never played a snap in his life. Even if he really is as good as one might hope, he's going to have a shitload of mental mistakes in his first year. If he makes it out on the field at all for us without DuCasse'ing it out there, then we might want to get a little excited for next year.
