I know everyone has been waiting with anticipation LOL. At #16 the Jets go.

    1. Andre Branch DE/OLB- Its time the Jets address the pass rush.
    2. Chris Polk RB- Ground and pound with L.T leaving we nned someone to give Greene a breather.
    3. Ben Jones G- With Slauson coming off injury and Moore getting older need some depth here.
    5. Mitchell Schwartz OT- The thought of going into the season with Hunter gives me nightmares.
    6. Jarius Wright WR- Our YAC catch guy. Schillens is always injured.
    6. Eddie Whitley S- A good coverage safety.
    6. Casey Hayward CB- A real ballhawk and with Cole gone need some depth.
    7. Brandon Lindsey LB- Coverage type LB who also had 8.5 sacks.
    7. Shaun Powell P- Avg. 47.0 on punts and also holds for field goals. Can kick rugby style also.
    7. Brad Herman TE- Blocking TE. If he is breathing he should be better than Mulligan.

Andre Branch is a reach at #16......late Rd 1 is more like it.

Ben Jones is good, rather have a player that can play G/T, Jones is a C/G.

Mitchell Schwartz won't be available in Rd 5, he's a solid Tackle on the rise.

Casey Hayward is a ballhawk, probably going to be a Nickel in the pros or convert to Safety.

This draft isnt very realistic, well at all

Branch that early is a major stretch, I have no problems with picking him late first/second IF we traded down, getting him @ 16 is horrendous value tho imo

Polk in the 2nd, not a pick id enjoy

Ben Jones is a center, and we have Nick Mangold, so this pick doesnt really make sense to me.

Id rather draft a guard, ie brandon washington

No way is Hayward falling to the 6th, not even close

And no way is Schwartz going to the 6th, not even close

I don't even like Branch in the later first round, much less at 16. Him over Perry/Mercilus/Upshaw/Ingram would be ridiculous, and I can guarantee at least one of those guys will be there at 16.

If Branch is your guy why wait to take him or trade back and lose him. The Jets need to get younger and more athletic at the OLB position. Does it matter what slot he is grabbed at if the guy produces for you. Schwatz is the 21st rated tackle and we have all seen player slip and slide in a draft. Donovan Warren was top 3 round CB and next thing you know he is UDFA. The Jets have to make a decision quick whether to bring Braylon back or not. Then they will need a number 1 receiver because Holmes is a 2 and Kerley is a slot receiver.

Because it's about value. You don't reach for a player at #16 that has a value around #28, at best.

It does matter!! The NFL draft is all about drafting players' at the proper value and not reaching.

Warren had issues and wasn't producing in running drills, very poor #s. He was overrated early and the Combine and pro workouts exposed his flaws. It became crystal clear Warren had zero NFL coverage skills.

Come on man... the Jets have shown time and time again that you can reach for your guy... ie Jeff Lageman, Roger Vick, Johnnie Lam Jones

At least we don't any longer. Tanny has drafted very well with Mo Wilk & Wilson the last two years in Rd 1, excellent value and positions of need.

    why highjack someone's thread?

And this draft is far from realistic.

Thank you. Its a slow off season and we still have about 27 days till draft day. Plus it will constantly change with more pro days and players like Ingram who absolutely blew NFL personnel away at his pro day. He will likely be out of reach for the Jets and might move below 10.

It's tough to say where Branch will end up being valued. A lot of guys move up and down in the week or two preceding the draft. The guy has great measurables, I just don't see him as an outside linebacker.

I think in that scenario, assuming he's there, Nick Perry is the guy the Jets would take. He's far and away the best athlete at the position. His vertical, speed, and measurables blow Courtney Upshaw away. His production is there. I just think it makes too much sense.

    Sorry, man.
I'd could'nt even begin to explain how disappointed I would be with a draft like this.
The only really great pick would be Mitchell Schwartz in the 5th,........but only because he should really be gone by the time we pick in the 3rd round.

Perry was brutally too honest and said he prefers to play in 4-3 defnse thus eliminating him for teams like Pitt, Jets, New England
