IF the Jets beat the Giants it would have still came down to the last game because the Cowgirls got shit on by the Eagles that same day.. And IF the Jets beat the Phins, we still wouldn't have made the playoffs b/c Houston failed to win. BUT if we beat both, yes we would have been in the playoffs....:drunk: :buffaloblows::bills_suck::finssuck::eaglessuck:
I'm too tired and cranky to get in to this right now, but I honestly don't give a damn what you think about Giants fans. I will say that you might be too sensitive to watch football if the big bad Giants fans are too mean to let you look at games that took place over a month ago objectively. Lightening struck twice, explain that. While you're at it, I'd love to know what you think acting "humble" would be. I'd love to see that same logic applied to the Jets. You have a great night now.
the same thing that i said to the buffalo guy applies to you too wtf are you doing with an account on another teams board, with almost 1600 posts. go blow lawrence taylor
lol. "You're calling us assholes? *then proceeds to act like an asshole* So take THAT!" I would actually LOVE to root for Giants, but their fans are complete fucking assholes, and ALWAYS have been, even before Rex came to town.
That fucking overthrown ball to Miles Austin would have sealed the Giants season real early....fuck the Cowboys...
Relax, child...stop your whining and play tribute to a team that knows how to perform in the clutch and leverage opportunities.
Good point(s), really the shit just rolls downstream. Fans are mostly silly. Bills (fans) used to do it to the AFC East back in the day, now we been at the bottom and when Bills fans poke at Jets fans and comment on the 'breaks' that got them there, Jets fans "We went to two fucking AFC Championship games, what did you do??" (Some) Jet fans pick at the giants for the breaks that got them through the playoffs and even into them, Giants fans "We won two Superbowl's through Brady, what did you do??" To pick on the Giants is sorta silly. You do not win two Superbowls with Eli and call it luck. That team is about being tough minded and led by no nonsense coaching, Eli Manning, clutch play when it matters and an always kick ass defensive line. I give credit to the Giants, hell of an organization. They win Superbowls at the pace of about 1-2 per decade. Jets and Bills fans would love that.
Decent post, although you should look to some other example than Unitas being hurt to indicate Jets luck in SB3. Unitas had been hurt all season and Earl Morrall, his replacement, had gone on to earn NFL MVP honors that season before getting dunked in the big game against the Jets. Putting Unitas in was a desperation move because the Colts were staring down the barrel of a loaded gun. Desperation didn't become them and that's one of the reasons why the Jets win was so demoralizing for the NFL.
I'll tell you right now...I live in New York and I'm perfectly fine with the Giants having their day in the sunlight rather than open up ANY possibility that those piece of shit New England Patriots add another ring to their fingers over the next decade. If championships are being won in New York, it means that New York football is at the top of the curve on franchise success. It means that tough cold weather teams are succeeding, and everyone in the city thinks it's within reach players included. I don't really understand all this negative vibe at this point. We're not 4-11 here it could be us just as easily next year.
First off, I'm sorry for being a dick last night. It was a rough night and I wisely decided to take out my frustrations upon the Internets. And hey, if a team besides the Jets had every single one of their games broadcast in the area where I live, then I would be on their message board in addition to the Giants' message board I frequent. I hope that explains to you why posters like myself (and several others) are here. In all seriousness, please explain to me how luck was so critical for the Giants success this past year but hasn't been a factor in any other team's championship runs. I get that you don't like it that the Giants won the Super Bowl. Frankly, that's your problem. If you can look past that, then I think we can actually have an exchange here. If not, then you can go change Namath's colostomy bag.
Dude, what part of tired and cranky don't you understand? Shut up! *Sniffle* For real though, my bad. And I'm not necessarily calling you an asshole. I'm not calling everyone an asshole because I'm not necessarily pissed at everyone. There is a group (and they know who they are) that truly and genuinely believes that the Giants lucked into the Super Bowl and had no business being there otherwise. That's just not true and it confuses & frustrates me that people can think this way while offering nothing of substance to justify that stance. If you're in that group then I doubt we'll be friends. And I know the fans always had friction between them prior to Rex showing up, but do you recall things being this tense between the two organizations prior to Rex coming to town and taking shots at the Giants for no reason other than to show how tough he is?
That was just the best example I could think of up the top of my head. There are things we can't explain that happen in football. I'm sure if we possessed the minds to notice, chronicle, and understand every single detail of every single factor that goes in to a situation, we would see that there is nothing random that happens. Having said that, if you define "luck" as things happening that are beyond your control, then there is no way to get around the fact that every team (win or loss) is lucky. I've just heard enough of "they are the luckiest team in the history of teams and luck" to not be frustrated with it.
To be fair, you guys destroyed Atlanta. But then, the best and most efficient offense in the league had 8 dropped passes and Rodgers missing wide open guys. The best special teams unit in the league muffs 2 punts. Brady missing/Welker dropping (probably one of the best combos in the league) the would be game sealing completion. The Giants played well but they also had a ton of luck IMO. This all would have been moot had Romo been able to hit a wide open Austin, but Romo will be Romo.
lol at this post. So instead of rooting for the JETS you hate another teams player. Why not hate the Jets for allowing the Giants into the playoffs. lol 50+ throws by Sanchise and an onside punt.
