Branch does alot of things well.He sets the edge, plays with leverage, uses his arms to disengage and has above average burst to the corner. His limitations are in his stiff hips.As a result he lacks consistency in space as well as a pass rusher when he's unable to use his long arms to create separation.
hahah now that you mention it, Im looking at some pics of him and he does have very short arms, it looks funny. He just has an overall small upper body\torso. Wonder if this will turn the Jets off....
I haven't watched much college football over the past year or so, but I did catch a couple of games with Ingram. The guy is a player, and the short arms measurement won't be as big of a deal as some make it out to be. Measurables are good to chart and make select observations, but film and gameplay is so much more important. It's funny how once a player in the league excels, no one talks about what their 40 is, how great of a broad jump their have, or how many reps of 225 they did at the combine. They talk about their football instincts, their playmaking ability, and the intangibles they bring to the game. That's Ingram in a nutshell.
I've been saying this for weeks and all anyone says is how great he's going to be. No chance this guy can beat NFL tackles once they get their hands on him. He has a small arms and a small torso. He's going to wind up being a 3-4 MLB. I would take Hightower and Upshaw before Ingram.
