FFS can every jets player just shut the fuck up talkin, seriously cant take any more media talk. Has this team learned anything from last year. Rex needs to put a ban on people talkin about certain subjects i.e locker room situation etc. Everyone in football are sick to death of hearing jets player un-named or not talkin shit all the time giving the media ammunition. I am fully behind Rex and this team but enough with the fuckin chat already.
Funny, but the last person that went on record being critical of the team got exiled. I would imagine the Mason object lesson wasn't lost on the remaining players in the lockerroom hence all the "you didn't hear this from me but..." quotes. But when you're the best CB in the modern NFL, especially when your coach is your biggest booster, you get a certain amount of "leeway". Doesn't hurt to have huge guaranteed money on paper too.
You want to take the chance? Not me. Perception is reality. He gets on the cover and we'll be holding our breaths all year. And pro athletes are the most superstitious guys you'll ever meet--I don't want Revis thinking about that during the season.
Revis needs to continue to step up as a leader of the defense and entire team. Especially with Jimmy Leonhard's return in question, Revis' leadership role will expand big time this year.
Just saw Revis on NFL 32. When asked by Suzy Kolber if Tebow's presence has the potential to divide the Jets locker room, Revis responded with, "We'll have to see." Really? How about, "The veterans won't allow that." Give me something positive. Not just, "We'll have to see." Is the locker room still so fragile that he thinks it's 50-50 Tebow divides it? Weird. He also called Belichick a "jerk" on one of the other ESPN shows. Yeah, he is. Are the Jets really in a position at this point to be saying anything like that publicly? Can Rex please make that stop?
Tebow isn't going to divide the locker room. The fan base, probably, but not the locker room. Losing is what divides locker rooms.
He could, potentially. If some members of the team are down on Sanchez (which seemed to be the case last year), while others are buying into Tebow, he could unintentionally divide the locker room.
Okay, I need a bit of edumacayshun here, since I'm an outsider. My take was it was basically the one or two malcontents stirring the pot, and that chief among them was Holmes. I'm pretty sure if it's a choice between Tebow and Sanchez, Holmes is going all in on Sanchez.
Listen, Revis is not a leader. He is great on the field , but a leader doesn't hold out, then come in out of shape and get hurt causing the team to be less ready for the season. Leadership must come from someone like Pouha or Mangold. Our QB is not leader material, yet.
From what I've seen the new backup QB has more natural leadership abilities than 90% of the rest of the team. That alone may win him the starting job if things go south.
Just watched Total Access and i know i already said it but DAMN Siciakabifoso or whatever pisses me off! He talked about this and made it sound like Revis' didnt know what he was talking about and talks with a smug smartass tone that made it sound the Jets are just a bunch of bonehead highschool kids! BRING BACK RICH!!!
