I guess my awesome draft picks brought this draft to a halt...lol.

I know not everyone and maybe not anyone considers Childs a early 3rd Rounder, but I think he's worth it. If the Seahawks can get '09 Childs, they'll be getting a potential 1st rounder at a steal. Scouts remarked he looked 100% at his Pro Day, saw his explosiveness and speed of pre injury Childs. BMW is rapidly declining after showing moderate value, Rice has been banged up over the last 2 years, and Tate and Butler haven't been able to fend off Doug Baldwin(Gulf Breeze High represent!).

And I think Irvin will prove valuable to the Texans, you can never have too many passrushers. Not that I think they'll let him get away, but Barwin is a free agent after this season. And some coaches believe Brooks Reed will be figured out quickly into his 2nd year, so that's where Irvin could come in...

Well they are up now, so we can see what they do. I have one interesting option in mind. I'm mildly surprised he is still around to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if we went in this direction. It might be a bit of a surprise with the Upshaw pick on board, but I would be a very happy camper if we did.

There's a safety that can be had too for NYJ here that would be a fine pick.

I agree, but I want them to pass. Because he would make a trifecta of awesomeness with my selections. So i'm a selfish GM, sue me, hahaha

I think I know who you're talking about, there's one rush LB who I'm shocked is still on the board. But I felt like after taking Upshaw, we would be set for now with Upshaw, Pace, Maybin, and Thomas, so there really wouldn't be much of a spot for this player. But I think whoever gets him is getting a major steal. I was happy to get Martin here, I think he could step right in and start at FS for us, if healthy, or even if not still provide important depth.

Like the Jets pick a lot. I don't love the safties in this draft unless value is there and Martin held plenty of value in the 3rd. Not 100% he can start from day one but he's a good prospect no doubt. Nice job.

Well we need two new starting OLB next year.

Would be nothing wrong with another OLB imo

Yeah, but if Maybin can bulk up, he could be a possible starter next year, and we could always draft/sign someone next offseason if Pace leaves. Just didn't think it was worth taking a 5th-string OLB when there was a potential starting safety on the board.

We need a ton of youth in the LB corps as a whole. So I wouldnt be unhappy at all if we double-dipped at OLB in the first 3 rounds, expecially if the value is there.

But Baker is right, the value is perfect for a safety in Martin. I'm against safeties as well unless the value is there. Martin is really the last quality safety in the draft IMO, and I think come draft day, because there is so little depth, he will be a late 2nd rounder IMO. So since he is there, you can't ignore good value at a position of need, especially when we did get an OLB earlier. Good pick, even if it was tempting to grab that rush OLB.

Pace will be starting for sure and most likely next year.

yes but I seriously doubt he is on the roster in 2013. So getting a mid-round guy in here this year so he has a year of development under his belt before we ask him to become a major contributor in 2013 would be a great idea IMO.

Not sure when Kurt is coming back but unsure if I will be on later tonight. Contemplating on sending someone a top 2 board.

This is when the draft will start to get interesting and see who really did their homework. Rounds 4-7 should be fun.

Thanks for selecting in my place guys... sorry, been out of internet the whole day! I like the Criner pick :) Dolphins need someone to throw to with the loss of Marshall.
